Horror POV

~~~~~~~~
I think out of all of us, besides Y/N, I guess, Slash is most enthused about seeing me, though he still isn't very happy about it. Considering we did torture him and stuff, it makes sense as to why he's so anxious around us, especially now that Nightmare's free, but I wish he wasn't so... Distant? He mostly spends his time with Y/N. He worries a lot about her more than any of us. I've tried talking to him, but he's not very friendly towards me. He starts sparking every time I try to apologize for what we did to him.
At least he's cooperative, I guess. Since Shattered can't know he's here, he teleports in and out of the town every time someone comes down to the basement. I don't know why he can and why we can't, but at least we know now that the barrier doesn't affect him, only us, and most likely doesn't affect Shattered's gang, either. Sucks for us, but oh well. We'll figure out a way to get out.
Nightmare's shackles are easy to get on and off, so every time we hear someone coming, he puts the shackles back on, and Slash teleports away. He always has his phone on him, so when he gets a call from Shattered's laptop, he knows it's safe to come back. The guards haven't suspected anything yet, which is good. Though I can't help but feel that our luck is going to change pretty soon. It's been too easy up until now. Surely we can't just walk out of here?
We've had some close calls with Slash or Nightmare. Not too long after Slash got here, we were so focused on the fact that Nightmare was free and that maybe we had a chance to get out that we didn't hear the guards coming until they were practically right on our doorstep. In the midst of panic, Nightmare sloppily put the shackles back on, and Slash teleports out just before the door opened. The guards saw the shackles and how horribly they were put on, and they had to bring Ink back to put them back on properly, then they took Dust to do some tests, and Slash came back. It's scary, being so close to getting caught and ruining any chance we have at escaping.
"Y/N." Nightmare says, flexing his wrists after the shackles fall to the ground. The guards just left after bringing Nightmare back from some testing. I can't help but wonder how long it takes to make a minion from our DNA and magic. Then again, he needs Y/N's soul, and he can't have that unless he kills her, and he needs her alive. I don't know why he doesn't just get another human soul, honestly. It wouldn't be the first person he's killed. Maybe he needs a S/C soul and she's the only one with that soul color or something.
"Yeah?" Y/N's busy doodling in her notebook as Slash pops the other shackle off quickly and backs up a bit to give the king some space.
"Have you gotten any information yet?" Nightmare asks, wincing slightly as he rubs his wrists. I can see the burn marks from the bed.
She blinks. "On what?"
"...Anything to help us escape?"
"Oh! Yeah, uh, no, I don't have any information." She holds a hand up before Nightmare can snap. "But! I- I do have a plan! I don't really know if it's a good plan, but it might work.."
"What is it?" Nightmare looks irritated now.
"So, I did a bit of looking around, and I think I know exactly where the barrier is." She scurries over to Nightmare with her notebook and pencil and flips through the pages. She stops on a semi-blank page and starts drawing something, angling the book so Nightmare can see. "This is the town, right?" Nightmare nods. "Whenever I go close to the barrier, I feel a very tiny shock, like the kind you get in the winter when someone touches you, right? There's a small crack in the road, and not only do I feel that shock when I approach it, but I can see a tiny bit of electricity coming from it." She scribbles some more stuff down on the page. "I think that's where the barrier begins. I can only estimate how thick it is, but it's obviously very thick. We can't just walk through it, but I think, according to some stuff I've done here," she flips to another page, and I climb off the bed and slowly inch towards her, "I think I know how fast we'd have to be going to get out of there without passing out."
