I was taken aback by his revelation, the pieces of the puzzle slowly falling into place. "I know you're afraid of me," he confessed, his voice tinged with sadness. A wave of guilt washed over me, realizing how my fear had affected him. "I'm sorry," I murmured, standing up and facing him. "I just need some time, okay? It all happened so suddenly, and I still can't believe what I saw."
He nodded understandingly, and I took a hesitant step closer to him. "So let me get this straight. You're a fallen angel who has been banished from Heaven, and Adrian is an angel," I summarized, seeking confirmation. He smiled and nodded again, confirming my understanding.
"So, that's why you hate each other," I concluded, the pieces of the puzzle finally clicking into place. His response was filled with bitterness and pain. "He murdered the girl I loved the most," he revealed, his words sending a chill down my spine. "What?" I gasped in disbelief, unable to comprehend the gravity of his words.
He stood from the bed, attempting to walk away from the room. "Why wasn't he punished?" I demanded, my voice laced with frustration. He didn't turn back to face me, his head only slightly turning as he uttered a simple, devastating truth. "No one trusted me."
He strutted down the stairs like he owned the place, dropping the bombshell, "I'm outta here." But I couldn't let him split without a word. "Hold up!" I blurted, feeling the twinge of guilt. "I'm sorry for everything, too, and for hating you so much." He paused, a small smile gracing his lips as he made his way to the door.
"I'm flying solo tonight, why don't we kick it together?" I blurted out, instantly regretting the words as they escaped my mouth. "Hang out together? Geez, Isabelle, you're outta your mind," I muttered under my breath, feeling the heat rise in my cheeks. But despite my inner freakout, I couldn't shake the feeling that something had shifted in him.
"You're different now," I admitted, closing the door behind him as he settled onto the couch. "I don't hate you anymore."
I flashed him a cheesy grin and plopped down next to him. "I'm digging this whole 'no hate' vibe you got going on," I remarked, adjusting my short shorts to cover up more skin, catching him sneaking a peek. I tossed a plushie onto the couch, only to realize I'd swiped it from Dizzie. "Sorry, girl, just borrowing it for a sec," I apologized to my furry friend, who shot me a disapproving look before slinking off the couch with a dramatic meow.
"Looks like someone's got a 'tude," I chuckled, nodding towards the disgruntled feline. "So, spill the tea, why've you been playing hooky from school?" Ero inquired, and I shrugged nonchalantly. "Couldn't deal with all the drama," I confessed with a shrug, leaning back against the cushions.
He let out a big ol' belly laugh, totally catchin' me off guard. "But - I ain't finished with my revenge yet," he declared outta nowhere, makin' my eyebrows shoot up in confusion. "What're you talkin' about?" I asked, feelin' my curiosity kickin' in.
Standin' up from the couch, his whole vibe switched up real quick. "I'm talkin' 'bout Adrian. I'm here 'cause that dude's gotta pay for what he's done," he explained, a fierce determination gleamin' in his eyes. My heart skipped a beat as I caught him sneakin' a peek at the picture of Adrian on my lock screen. "Uh - that's ancient history," I stuttered, feelin' the weight of his intense stare.
But just like that, he softened up, revertin' back to the Ero I knew. "I can't stand seein' you with him. Don't make me flip the script on you," he admitted, his hand slidin' onto my shoulder as he flashed me that charming grin of his.
My heart raced as I found myself completely mesmerized by his deep blue eyes and sharp features. He was drop-dead gorgeous, and havin' him so close to me only amplified the electricity cracklin' between us. I couldn't ignore the overwhelmin' urge to plant one on him, my lips practically buzzin' with anticipation.
"Ain't you supposed to be home alone?" he teased, tryin' to pull away with a playful tone. But I just couldn't hold back any longer, my longin' for him overridin' any sense of restraint.
I grabbed his arm, puttin' the brakes on his movement. "Hold up," I said, tryin' to catch my breath. There was this feelin' bubblin' up inside me, somethin' brand spankin' new, like I'd never experienced before.
"What's goin' on?" he asked, his eyes captivatin' me like a deer caught in headlights.
Standin' up, I left the plushie behind on the ground. My urge to kiss him was drivin' me absolutely bonkers, his lips and gaze already havin' me wrapped around his finger. Placin' my hand on his cheek, I took a deep breath and popped the big question, "Can I kiss you?" My heart was poundin' so hard, it felt like it was gonna burst right outta my chest. And I couldn't help but bite my lip in anticipation.
He shot me a grin. "Are you serious?" he teased, tryin' to pull back. But I wasn't lettin' him off the hook that easy. Before he could make a move, I reached up, snatchin' the back of his head and haulin' him in for a kiss. When our lips met, it was like a Fourth of July fireworks show goin' off in the sky. I ran my hand through his hair, just takin' it all in.
Between kisses, I managed to mumble, "I think I like you." I glanced into his eyes, my breathin' ragged and fast. Without missin' a beat, he leaned in, keepin' the passion alive.
The tension in the air was so thick, you could cut it with a butter knife. But in that moment, all that mattered was the electric connection sizzlin' between us.
Our lips crashed together like two runaway freight trains, igniting a fire that burned hotter than a Texas summer day. It was a wild, untamed dance of tongues and teeth, each movement sending shivers down my spine. His hands roamed freely, exploring every inch of my body as if he couldn't get enough.
We were lost in the heat of the moment, a tornado of passion swirling around us, threatening to consume everything in its path. Time seemed to stand still as we devoured each other, our desires colliding in a frenzy of lust and longing.
With every kiss, the world faded away until there was nothing left but him and me, lost in the intoxicating whirlwind of our love. It was a kiss that set my soul on fire, leaving me breathless and hungry for more. And as we finally pulled away, gasping for air, I knew that this was just the beginning of our wild and unforgettable journey together.
Between our heavy breaths, I tried to put the brakes on the whirlwind we'd unleashed. "Nah, I'm not sure about this," I mumbled, but he just grinned like a mischievous imp. "Too late," he murmured, sinking his teeth into my lower lip and pulling me into an even deeper kiss.
Our mouths moved in perfect sync, exploring each other like we were searching for hidden treasure. We tumbled onto the couch, limbs entwined, lost in a haze of longing and lust. "You asked for this," he growled against my skin, his fingers tangled in my hair, pulling me closer.
"There's no going back now," he declared, his lips trailing fire down my neck, sending shivers racing down my spine. My heart was pounding, my skin on fire with anticipation. "So, are we a thing now?" I managed to blurt out, but he just grinned wickedly, his kisses growing even more intense.
With a playful nip at my lower lip, he whispered, "You're mine now. No one else stands a chance." And as we shared a knowing smile between kisses, I nodded, surrendering myself to the intoxicating whirlwind of our newfound passion.
