Ever since that day Bronte flew on Greyfell he couldn't stop thinking about them. What's wrong with me? They're just the rarest creatures on the planet right now it's not like...

Oralie interrupted his thoughts. "What are you day dreaming about? It must be good to make you drool." What was I thinking?

Realizing that he was standing in his castle, Bronte wiped the drool off. "I was asleep," he said cutely.

"Standing up?" Her eyebrow shot into outer space.

"Yes." This time he said super seriously, like a serious human, I mean alicorn, I mean person, I mean elf.

He changed the subject before she could suspect anything, "How are the alicorns doing?"

"Good. Perhaps you would like to visit them?" She said casually.

This was too good to be true. "Yeah,." Bronte attempted to say without enthusiasm, like his normal self.

Except that he wasn't his usual self, was he?

Time skip

When he finally got the chance to see them again, he ran up to them and hugged the alicorns. If you could believe it. Which I don't, personally.

They transmitted into his mind, Hello, Bronte. Greyfell said, while Silveny went Bronte! Bronte! Bronte!

He stood back and gazed at them, with wings so majestic, their manes waving in the wind, he couldn't take his eyes off of him. He had forgotten why he was there in the first place.

Luckily for him, Oralie saw none of that as she ran up to them, being late or whatever.

Bronte glared at her, eyes brimming with jealousy as she petted Silveny's mane. When she turned to look at him he put on his usual grumpy expression.

Oralie pouted. "Such a grumpy old elf, haven't you ever had feelings for someone?" It was as if she could sense his thoughts, but she was an Empath, and wasn't making contact to sense his feelings.

Bronte made a hmph sound and strolled over to the cliffside to look at the sunset. "Never. I'm a Councillor, I'm not supposed to have feelings like that for someone else."

"If you do, then you should leave for them. I certainly regret that with Kenric..." She trailed off.

"I'll think about it." He said while thinking about it.

Oralie smiled sadly. "Good." She also walked over to stand by him, looking at the sunset. "Well, I'll be taking my leave now. Good night."

"Technically, it's still day." He mumbled under his breath as she light leaped away.

The alicorns wandered over to him, seeing his face Greyfell transmitted, What's wrong?

Oh, nothing, he thought. But they had just went and read his mind, seeing the previous conversation. It angered him that they broke his privacy.

Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Silveny told him when she realized their mistake.

Bronte's eyes softened. It's okay, you did it because you care about me, right? He directed his response to them.

Greyfell's ears perked up. Yes. We do. You've done your best, it's not your fault no one loves you like that.

He turned his head away in shame.

Greyfell whined. Wait, that's not how I meant to put it, I meant to say that I love you. And Silveny loves you, too.

Love! Love! Love! Silveny added, prancing around to prove it. But what really convinced Bronte was when they inflicted love on him.

It was staggering, so much so that he literally staggered, it felt like his heart was full for the first time since... probably never.

He realized now why his fellow Councillors had left to pursue love, if he had felt this before he would've done it in a heartbeat.

When he stood up, he met Silveny's loving gaze. Do you see now? I could tell you love us too, I saw the memories from earlier after all. But I'm still going to ask: Do you want to be with us?

"Yes. Yes a thousand times, I would go anywhere with you." Bronte said earnestly, his words devoid of sarcasm as tears streamed down his face, almost nodding his head off.

Fly! Fly! Fly! Silveny was ecstatic, wings flapping as she took off.

Bronte was the most ready he was ever gonna be. He threw his tracking necklace off the cliff, and climbed onto Greyfell.

They rode off into the sunset, and then they lived happily ever after, away from the rest of elven society to live with them in secret. No one ever found out where they went.

Everyone thought that Bronte disappeared from the face of the earth. But Oralie thought he jumped off the cliff from being so lonely. Lmao what an idiot. Well technically she's right since he did teleport off the cliff but that's not the point.
