Chapter 1
Everyone had been preparing all week, a new batch of exhibits were being set up in the museum. And of course, the meant they'd be coming to life soon. So Larry had organised with everyone to be there to explain and help the newbies out when they inevitably woke up confused.
There were some new animals, new fossils and a handful of new minis for the dioramas. A brand new diorama had been added in, an Ancient Greek one. And of course Larry had to tell the Roman's to not get into a war with them at first sight, as they were indeed museum minis and it was the 21st century. They'd moved past that now.
Aside from that, everyone was rather exited to have me people in. It wasn't every day the museum got new exhibits. So that night when everyone came to life, the seasoned residents went straight for the newbies to introduce themselves and help out. The hall of miniatures was packed with all the dioramas (expect the mayans, they refused to stop shooting darts) opened up and everyone out on the floor conversing. Things seemed to be going rather well, once it'd been explained to the new people that they were minis and the tablet was what caused all this, they seemed interested to know more.
The trouble making duo actually weren't making trouble tonight, Jedediah and Octavius were out with everyone else exploring the new diorama and meeting new people.
"I see why so many people mix you guys up at first glance" Jedediah commented, looking around at the Greek buildings and sets of armour people wore in the new exhibit.
"I'll admit we did have some similarities, trade routes meant we got a lot of materials from the same places. But don't be fooled, the Greeks and us Roman's were entirely different civilisations" Octavius replied.
"Yeah you guys thought throwing people in areas with lions was fun. These guys did a buncha plays for entertainment"
Octavius couldn't really deny that, the Roman's did have some uh... extreme ideas of fun.
"Well, at least we've moved past that" He shrugged.
As they rounded a corner to approach an arena to take a look at, they heard a noise nearby that made them stop and look at each other. Was that crying?
"Ya hear that?" Jedediah asked.
"I do..." Octavius replied, looking around for the source.
Following the noise, the two ventured down a path that lead them to the corner of the exhibit where no one was. Aside from one lone child sitting curled up in the corner, clearly scared.
"That's a kid! Loud cry for a someone so tiny..." Jedediah said.
"They must be scared and confused, waking up for the first time and not knowing what to do" Octavius replied.
The child was no older than 6, wore the classic Greek chiton and had curly brown hair, face littered with freckles under the tear stains on her cheeks. The two men looked at each other, knowing they should do something. The two did have children in their lives before they were exhibits in the form of siblings and other family members. So even though it'd been several decades, they did remember to be quiet and gentle with a scared child. Octavius was the first to approach, taking off his helmet to seem less tall and intimidating.
"Hey, what's wrong there child? Is everything alright? Where's your parents?" He asked.
The child jumped at the sound of the new voice and looked up to find two much taller men before her. One she knew was some sort of warrior and one had the strangest clothes she'd ever seen. Apprehensive, she tried to wipe her eyes and respond.
