Ara had dropped out of school a few months back because she was failing most of her classes and didn't find the point in continuing to go when all she's ever going to do in life is stay in Tulsa.
She'll probably get a job at the DX or as a waitress at the Dingo. She didn't really have any special talents that could get her out of town and she certainly did not have the money either.
So at 1:24 in the afternoon on a Tuesday it was a pretty normal occurrence for her and her childhood friend, Betty Wilson to be walking around town looking for something to do.
Now, Betty was still in school but every once in a while she would skip to make sure that her friend of 13 years wouldn't get herself in too much trouble.
They were walking down the street when Ara reached into her black leather jacket to pull out a pack of cigs, only to find an empty box.
"Shit, Two must've taken my last few this morning."
Betty looked up at her blue eyed friend cautiously already knowing what she was thinking. It wasn't like Betty was a strict rule follower, but she did like to limit the amount of 'crime' she and her devious little friend did.
Ara's been in jail a few times but every time either Betty or her brother have been able to bail her out.
"Come on, let's go we don't have all day"
Was all that Ara said before walking into the small convenience store on the corner of the street.
This was a skit that the two used rarely so that no one became suspicious of the two young girls.
Betty went up to the male cashier who looked to be around Two-bits age maybe a little younger and started to flirt and distract him while Ara went a stuffed a few packs in her jacket.
She had also grabbed a pack of gum so that it looked like they actually came in for something.
"Just this please."
Ara said calmly.
"10 cents"
The brunette placed the piece of change on the counter and walked out with her friend.
Once they were a good distance away from the store Ara pulled out a stick and lit it inhaling the smoke of the small cancer stick.
"How many did you grab?"
Her blonde friend asked.
"A few."
Was all that Ara replied knowing if she told the real answer that she would be in for a long lecture.
The girls continued to walk discussing on what they would do later that night when an unforgettable voice called out from behind them.
