It'd been one in the morning and I was speeding over to Anais' to pick ha up. She sounded frantic when she called me so I could only imagine what'd happened. I didn't ask fa any explanation, I just promised ha, I'd be there in the next hour.

And I completed that promise as I pulled up in front of shawty building fa the second time in the last few days. I'd still been fucked up about Bella but Anais needed me which meant I had ta man up and face this place again.

All the memories of Abella and I came rushing back to me and broke my heart all over again. But that didn't matter now. What's done is done and I had to move on.

In no time, I watched as Anais had left the building with ha suitcase rolling behind ha with ha purse on ha left shoulder. I saw that she'd been dressed in nothing but a tank top and some sweatpants when she got closer to me.

And when she spotted my car, she did that cute luh run to make it over here faster. I couldn't help but smile as I watched ha smile back.

But I could sense ha energy and she'd not been happy despite the smile she put on to make it seem like everything'd been okay.

Getting out of the car, I proceeded to walk around to the passengers side and open the door fa ha. Then I grabbed ha suitcase, put it into my trunk, then closed it back.

"Thank you." She murmured, once I teleported back inside and closed my door.

"No problem."

"No I mean it...thank you for coming on such short notice. I really appreciate it."

"Of course Anais. You know I'd do anythin fa you." I smiled, leaning in to give ha a hug.

She reciprocated, holding me tight then letting go.

"And the kids are good, right? They with somebody?"

"Yeah. They're with Luca. He said he'd look after them while I took some time off."

"Cool, cool." I responded.

Putting my seatbelt on, I started the car back up then slowly started to pull out of my parking space in front of the building.

"You could put some music on if you want." I spoke.

"No thanks...I'm good. I like the silence." She smirked. "I'm just glad to be out of the house. I couldn't stay there much longer. I just need...a few days to...clear my mind. You know? Luca came over and we got to talkin, opened up some barely healed wounds, one thing led to another and...yeah you know how that must get."

"Yeah, I get it. I understand and I'm glad I could help you, ma." I responded.

"You have no idea how much you've helped." She scoffed.

Nodding my head, we sat in silence for a few moments. I wanted to ask what'd happened but I also didn't want to make ha uncomfortable or pry into ha business. But I ended up asking anyways with my big, uncontrollable mouth.

"Are you okay though? You wanna talk about what happened?" I questioned.

"No." She responded, abruptly but respectfully. "I'm sorry. I just rather not talk about it."

"Nah yeen gotta apologize. It's okay. I get it." I chuckled.

"Good, good." She smiled, looking down at her fingers. Then she began to play with them. "Enough about me though. How've you been lately? How are you taking your break up? Wondering how you're going to co-parent with Bell-"

"There ain't no baby for us to co-parent." I chuckled. I figured that if I opened up, she'd feel more inclined to do so as well.

"Huh? What do you mean?"
