"Where shall we go this time?!" "I fancy.. Somewhere beautiful" Liv responds, I smile and set the coordinates "I know just the place" the TARDIS lands on the planet Midnight..
We both smile as we step out and look at the planet from inside the palace "well you definitely delivered on your promise, this is.. Gorgeous!" Liv exclaims gleefully before hugging me "space truck is about to leave for a tour, fancy a trip?" "Works for me!" We smile even more as we board it..
We're well into the trip when Liv asks "so, what's on this tour?" "A sapphire waterfall, it's literally a waterfall made of sapphires!" "That sounds.. Astonishing, when can we see it?" "We should be coming up to it any second now.." As if on cue, the waterfall comes into sight through the windows, Liv smiles and takes a picture before getting out her drawing pad "I can't resist" I smile as she begins to draw away, using the picture on her phone for reference. Suddenly, the truck stops, the hostess comes out from the cockpit and states "sorry everyone but we've run into a slight issue" "what sort of issue?" "I can't disclose that" I stand up and flash the psychic paper "John Smith, health and safety" I waltz into the cockpit and ask the two men "what's going on?" "We've run into an issue, rocks fell on the path so the computer worked out a new route" "so we're the only people to come this way?" "Yeah, it's kinda cool don't you think?" "Oh I think it's wonderful.." I smile as I look out through the windows, diamond towers reaching high up into the sky. "Liv, do you wanna take a look at this?" She soon joins us and looks out at the vast landscape, almost like an ice skating rink but shimmering in the light so beautifully "that's.. Beautiful" she states, her eyes fixated on the view. "What's that?" One of the drivers asks "what's what?" "That!" I look at where he's pointing only to see a shadow, a moving shadow. Running, towards us.. "I think we'd best get back to our seats, come on Liv" she nods before we do just that..
"What was it? What did you see?" "I don't know.. But whatever it was, it was alive" "but- you said something about extonic sunlight, and that no life could exist on this planet" "no human life.." She gives a look of confusion before suddenly CLANG, the noise emanates throughout the truck, making the two of us look around in fear, along with the only other person on the truck. A woman, "what the hell was that?!" She exclaims before another CLANG "what's your name?" I ask her "Mrs Sylvestrie" "Mrs Sylvestrie, hold on tight, you too Liv!" Before I know it the truck goes into a frenzy, everything shakes and spins, like an earthquake..
I eventually come to, only to discover Liv talking to the hostess "what's going on?! What was that?!" "Listen- miss- I don't know! Okay? I'll check in with the drivers.." She goes to open the door to the cockpit only for there to be absolutely nothing on the other side. Just white, a white void, a vacuum "close it!" I exclaim before she does as I say and shuts the door "what was that?!" I spring to action and check the wiring "it's almost like.. The cockpits been ripped off" "well what about the drivers?!" "I'm sorry they're dead, reduced to dust" both her and Liv gasp in shock before I stand up and ask Liv "you ok?" "Fine yeah, but what about her?" She looks over at Mrs Sylvestrie, crouched down in the back corner of the truck, almost as if cowering in fear. "What's her first name?" "Sky, Sky Sylvestrie" "lovely bit of alliteration there, now.. Sky? Can you hear me?" She turns to look at me but it's.. Not her. Not anymore. "Sky?" "Sky?" She repeats what I said. Oh my god she repeated what I said. "Doctor? What's going on?" Liv asks, only for Sky- or whatever has taken over her to repeat what she said. "I don't know, let's just.. Take a step back, ok?" I meet up with Liv and the Hostess at the back "what do we do?" "No idea, whatever this thing is.. It's new, and I can't help but be fascinated by it" "we should throw her out.." The Hostess coldly says "I beg your pardon?" "Listen- whatever that thing is, it killed the drivers, and I don't want to stand around here giving it the chance to kill us too!" "We're not killing her!" "Two people are dead!" "Don't make it a third!" Liv just sighs and calmly says "look- Doctor I get you're fascinated but she's got a point, whatever we saw out there has clearly taken over her body and it killed the drivers" "I know that Liv, of course I know that.." I sigh too, my hands meeting my face as I process the thoughts "but- we can't just go around killing her, make a call out to the leisure palace, tell them to enforce quarantine protocols on this truck" "and then what? It gets back to civilisation? Starts killing more people?!" The Hostess retorts "just- let me talk to it ok?" She sighs as I kneel back down to meet Sky's eyes "what is that learning? Copying?" Liv walks over to me "Doctor, come over here.."
She leads me to the side and merely says "can we use the TARDIS?" "What do you mean?" "You told me a long time ago the heart of the TARDIS can do all sorts of things, could it free her from that thing? Whatever it is.." "I- maybe? I don't know.." "But we can try, right?" I just nod as I pull out a TARDIS key, Sky stands up to meet the blue box as it materialises inside the truck. The doors swing open to reveal a bright white light emanating from inside the magical machine.. She smiles, looks at me and merely says "thank you.." I smile too before the light vanishes, as does Sky..
"What- what happened?" I kneel down and look at the pile of dust on the floor "it killed whatever was inside her.." "But- where did she go?" Liv asks "I think it sent her back home, away from this planet and the dangers it presents.." I stand up, the Hostess just looks bewildered as Liv steps inside the TARDIS "who are you?" She just asks, I smirk and reply "I'm the Doctor, sorry I judged you.." The TARDIS vanishes and she stands alone in the truck, she touches the dust a little before composing herself and begins to wait for the rescue truck to come get her..
