After the cast heading their separate ways after finding out about the fire, Summer had tried to stay in class but things got to much. She grabbed her bag and stood up.
"Sum, what are you doing?" Kourtney asks from her seat beside the brunette.
"I can't did this." Summer whispers, before heading for the door.
"Summer Jones, get back in your seat." Her teacher tells her, but she ignores them and walks out the door.

After walking out of class, Summer found herself at the stairs. The brunette takes her bag off before putting her hand against the wall as she sits down. Summer let's out a sigh before bring her knees to her chest and wrapping her arms around them. She places her head on her knees as she closes her eyes.
"Summer?" Summer looks up to see EJ there.
"Hey." Summer says, wiping the stray tears away. "What you doing out here?"
"Going to the toilet. What about you?" EJ asks.
"I walked out of class." Summer answers, looking away from EJ and down to the floor.
Summer expected EJ to walk away, but he doesn't. Instead he sits down next to her, causing Summer to look at him again.
"What's going on?" EJ asks.
"First Miss Jenn nearly gets fired and now the auditorium has burnt down. What if this is the universes way of telling us the show shouldn't happen. What if this is the universes way of telling us that I'm not meant to be the lead?" Summer asks.
"If that's what you really think maybe you should ask yourself if this is what you really want." EJ tells her, as Summer slowly looks away.
Summer takes a moment before nodding. EJ places a gentle hand on Summer's shoulder before standing up.
"Just know. Whatever you decide. I'll be there for you." EJ tells her.
Summer softly smiles, which EJ returns before he walks away.

Summer was at home in the kitchen. She was sat at the kitchen island on her computer doing some homework, when Carol walks into the room.
"Hey, Sum. Someone's here to see you." Carol tells her.
"Carol, I really don't want to talk to anyone right now." Summer tells her.
"Not even me?" Summer looks behind Carol to see Ricky.
"What are you doing here?" Summer asks, as Carol leaves the two alone. "You should be at the theatre."
"So should you." Ricky says, causing Summer to sigh. "Why did you quit the show?"
"It's all too much at the moment, Ricky. I can't do it." Summer tells him.
"I can't do the show without you, Sum." Ricky tells her.
"Yes you can. I believe in you. I know you can do it. You are amazing, and I will be there front row opening night." Summer reassured him.
"You should be on stage. Not in the front row." Ricky tells her.
"Rick, please. Don't make this harder then it already is." Summer sighs.
"Sum..." Ricky says, as Summer stands up.
"You need to get to the theatre. I'll see you tomorrow." Summer says, before walking past Ricky and upstairs.

It was the end of senior year. After leaving HSM Summer never went back to the drama club. She missed it, but it didn't feel like home to her anymore. She didn't know if she would ever find somewhere that felt like home to her as much as drama club did again, but she was going to try. She had been accepted into Yale for college. She was so excited to go, but she wasn't looking forward to leaving Ellie or her friends. She was still friends with everyone from the HSM cast, and they were all so happy for her, but was still sad to see her go.
Ricky and Summer were in her room packing her stuff. Summer glances over to Ricky who was looking at something with a sad look on his face.
"You okay?" Summer asks.
"Yeah, I just... I can't believe your leaving." Ricky says, putting what he was looking at down.
"I'll be back. You can take the girl out of Salt Lake but you can't take Salt Lake out of the girl." Summer says, causing Ricky to laugh.
"I'm going to miss you." Ricky tells her.
"Stop talking like we ain't going to FaceTime ever single day." Summer tells him, playfully pushing him.
"That's not the same though." Ricky says. "But... Uhm... there's something I want to do before you go."
"What's that?" Summer asks.
Ricky let's out a nervous sigh before pressing his lips to Summers. It doesn't take long for Summer to kiss him back. As they pull apart they keep their foreheads rested against each other's.
"Well now you've just made it harder for me to leave." Summer says, causing the pair to laugh.
Summer and Ricky thought they would never be together. They both always liked the other but never thought anything would come of it. Who knew that Summer going away to college would bring them that step closer.
