Muslim Authors! You MUST reflect upon this Hadith.
فَدَيْنُ اللَّهِ أَحَقُّ أَنْ يُقْضَى
"Allah's debts are more worthy of being repaid"[Sahih al-Bukhari, 1953]
I.e. His ﷻ obligations, commands and whatever He Subhânahu Wata'ala told us to do are more worthy to be repaid.
If you're a Muslim author on this platform or anywhere else and you're writing a book whether to entertain readers or for other purposes then you MUST remember:
Fulfilling Allah's dept, His obligations and commands has more right to be fulfilled than Fulfilling the desires of the readers.
If your book has hundreds and millions of reads but your story goes against what Allah told us to do then by Allah, every single read is worthless and useless and of no benefit to you. If you do not know a ruling of a certain issue, for example if you do not know conditions of proper Hijaab then go study about it and then write about it in your book. Likewise, if you do not know ruling on how a woman should interact with opposite gender who is not her brother, husband and father, then go learn about it.
By Allah, the information you're writing in your books when it comes to Islamic practices, they are worthy of utmost attention and requires study in order to convey it in an authentic way.
________________________I was in middle of our Tafseer lecture taught by my Makki teacher and he was speaking about gratitude to Allah, he told us three tremendous Pillars of how does one become grateful to Allah.
Among them the second pillar he mentioned was: using that blessing that Allah has bestowed upon you in order to fulfill the obedience of Allah, in order to please Him Subhânahu Wata'ala and to assist Muslims.
So 'ayyuhal katib', o writer, your writing skill is not because you're intelligent, it is not your right, it is not something you were 'born' with, rather it is a blessing from Allah alone that He Subhânahu Wata'ala has bestowed upon you, blessed you with.
So it is upon you to use it in order to fulfill Allah's commands, in order to stay away from displeasing Him Subhânahu Wata'ala by going against His commands. If you do not do it then you're not grateful to Allah for it, hence fear, for it maybe taken away from you at some point.
Be grateful to Allah through statements and actions.
