Lonely is not a feeling when you are alone. Lonely is a feeling when no one cares.
(This chapter will have flashbacks)
Here I sat in the living roomed drenched in beer with my mom furiously glaring at me from the other side of the room. The boys sat next to me slightly nervous, fiddling with their fingers, but they had no reason to be considering it was MY mom. I've never seen my mom so pissed. Okay you guys are probably wondering what the hell happened last night. Truth is I can't remember. Shall we start from the beginning and remember last night together? Let's do it.
Flashback:
We pulled up into the scene of drunk teenagers dancing and groping one another. I realized now, I wasn't missing out on much. Was it worth sneaking out? Well the night's just begun. I followed the boys into the house filled with rebellious teenagers and the blaring music filling their bodies. The stench of alcohol flooded the room and people didn't seem to mind. We reached the kitchen where Michael handed each of us a red cup of beer. I brought it up to my face taking a sniff before turning away to get a new breath of air. I scrunched my nose and brought the cup to my lips and hesitantly took a sip. The taste of beer flooded my mouth making sure to hit every single tastebud making me disgusted at the taste. I swallowed knowing it would look weird if I didn't. I set the beer down on the counter not really wanting to deal with that anymore.
several cups of beer later:
"Let's dance! Whooo!" Ashton giggled as he ran straight to the dance floor dragging me behind with him. I followed in toe and jumped up and down to the beat of "Ain't a party". "Ohhh I lovvvee this song!" I slurred and leaned on Ashton causing us both to stumble and laugh. We gained our balance once more and continued to dance. I was having a whole lot of fun but then of course all good things must come to an end.
Flashback ends:
"That still doesn't explain why your covered in beer. " my mom stood with her arms crossed. Somehow everyone else was still asleep but I was thankful for that. "I'm getting there." I explained annoyed she interrupted me.
Flashback:
We were all drunk off our minds and it was now two in the morning. I was heading towards the bathroom when I saw this girl all over Luke making him clearly uncomfortable. I felt bad for the guy I really did. After I finished my business I walk back out and there still stood Luke with the overly clingy red head. Luke spotted me and widened his eyes before mouthing a subtle 'help me'. I rose my eyebrows and then squinted my eyes trying to steady my sight. It took a bit to register what he said but once I did I made my way towards Luke. "There you are baby! Oh I've been looking everywhere for you!" I cringed as each word spilled out my mouth. Luke rose his eyebrows in confusion and looked down at my arm that was now wrapped around his shoulder. His eyes widened as he caught on to my little stunt. I felt the red head glare into the back of my skull as I stood facing Luke. I whipped my head around to face the girl who was all over "my man". "And you are?" I asked her staring into her hazel eyes. She scoffed before taking the beer in her hand and pouring it all over my clothes. My eyes widened as every drop absorbed through my shirt causing it to cling to me, which I hated. I squinted my eyes at the girl.
Flashback end:
I dared not go into any further deeper into details because that was certainly not how that ended but I promised Luke we would never speak of it. "Then she walked off angry and the guys dropped me off then I offered them to stay cause we are still kinda drunk and I didn't want the getting in a car accident. " My mom slowly nodded processing every word I said. "Your grounded for 2 weeks we will discuss the rest of your punishment tomorrow after school." she said sternly. "You guys can stay for the night." She said before turning her back and walking upstairs to her room clearly frustrated. I let out a sigh of relief however I knew I should not feel relief because I was nervous of what she would tell me tomorrow. I knew she tried to keep her cool especially in front of the guys. I simply showed the guys the guest rooms before going to take a shower and laying down. Now for those of you who are wondering 'what really happened after I to drenched in beer?' well let me just tell you.
Flashback starts:
I felt the need to slap her but that wouldn't do much so I did what any girl would do. Kiss Luke. At least that's what I thought every girl would do. I turned back to Luke who was as shocked as I was and placed my hands on his cheeks. I stood on my tip toes and stared deep into his blue eyes. I leaned in slowly letting my lips meet his soft intoxicated ones. He was tense at first but then melted into the kiss. I felt a rush of adrenaline flood through my veins and the whole world around us seemed to pause. As if time stopped and every single problem vanished. The only noise detected was the beat of my heart thumping. I pulled back hesitantly and the sound of music resumed. I was completely shocked by my actions and stared Luke dead in the eyes. I heard the red head groan and storm off, however me and Luke didn't take our eyes off one another. Well now I feel completely sober and aware of everything. Is that even possible? What the hell did I just do. I may have possibly ruined this friendship thing we had going. "I-I am so sorry." He opened his mouth but soon closed it without a word slipping out. "Can we just please pretend that, that did't happen?"I asked desperately. He let out a sigh of relief which kind of shocked me. But I definitely was not ready for a relationship and as of now I just wanted to be friends. "Oh thank God, I definitely don't want the boys finding out, I mean we just met and- I'm gonna shut up." He blurted. I nodded awkwardly and opened my mouth "Yeah I totally agree and trust me I won't tell the guys if you don't" I smiled. "Tell the guys what?" he winked at me. I smiled and shook my head at his cliche comment.
"Hey thanks again for helping me out again." he rubbed the back of his neck with his hand. "No problem, she clearly made you uncomfortable and what are friends for right?" He nodded. We were making our way back to the main room and what happened ten minutes ago seemed to have been forgotten already. "We should probably head home, I bet you wanna change" he chuckled. I looked down at my clothes slightly annoyed. "You have no idea."
"You guys can stay if you want. You guys seem pretty drunk and I don't want y'all dying so yeah." They exchanged glances before nodding. We walked to my front door and I unlocked it. "Just please be quiet." I turned on my flashlight on my phone and very silently opened the door. The three boys stumbled in making me mentally face palm. Luke was the only one slightly more sober but not completely. I heard the lights flick on before turning to face my mom arms crossed looking at me with her 'care to explain' face.
Flashback end:
And that my friends is exactly how my night went. It was definitely... unforgettable.
