It's a new day, and I'm peacefully sleeping in my room, which is a first, by the way. Now that the monsters are back, I know this is going to be a tough year. And today is one of the worst days. Want to know why? It's the annual football game between the Salvatore School and Mystic Falls High. I know it doesn't sound that bad, but trust me, it is. Last year, when I was a Mystic Falls High student, it was hell, even though I never mentioned it before. I hate the school's pranks, and I hated Connor and his team, who were just brainwashed idiots who followed him everywhere.

Plus, I have another confession to make... I don't like football. Well, I don't like American football. I said it, sue me if you want. Last year, I only came to support Josie, and that's probably what I'll do this year too. Maybe I'll take this day easy, relax a little, especially after the whole Cyclops thing. And that's not all.  After chasing a cyclops and missing half of my first day of school, the worst came when I had to listen to Lizzie talking about some guy named Sebastian for hours. She said she met him in the old mill while she was waiting for MG for their study date. Poor MG. I mean, we're friends, and I know he always liked Lizzie, so of course, if he needs anything, I'll be here for him.

I hear someone coming into my room, and I already know it's MG. "We have an emergency," he declares.

I groan and open my eyes. "Out, Milton. It's too early for emergencies." Okay, maybe I'm not the nicest person in the morning.

"Headmaster Vardemus wants Landon to play QB," MG explains.

"Well, that's great. Aren't you guys supposed to lose every game? Now it's even more believable," I quip. I mean, seriously, Landon playing football? Now I have to see this.

"Actually, this year the headmaster told us we can win as long as we keep our powers to a minimal level. And that's not all," MG adds.

I wait for him to continue, and then he says the worst thing possible. "You're part of the team too."

Is this a nightmare? Yeah, that's probably it. I'm actually sleeping, and this is a nightmare. "You're kidding, right?" I ask desperately.

"Nope. I actually spoke with the headmaster myself, and I told him that we needed you on this team," MG confirms.

"MG... I am going to kill you," I mutter.

"Oh, come on, you're part of the super squad, so we got to stick together. Plus, it can be fun," he persuades.

How do I always get myself into something like this? "Uhhh, fine," I reluctantly agree.

"Great," MG says, using his vampire speed to bring my jersey. How did he even know I was going to say yes? Well, I guess it doesn't matter anymore. "Thanks, MG," I mumble.

"No problem. I'll see you on the field," he says, then walks away.

I guess I should get dressed. I go through my morning routine and put on the jersey. I really should learn how to tell people no.

I'm so glad Sam isn't here to see this; he would make fun of me for the rest of my life. I should go and check on the twins, but when I get there, I only see Lizzie.

"Where's Jo?" I inquire.

"Not here, and..." When she looks at me, she can't help but laugh. "Nice jersey. I thought you hated football."

"Trust me, this wasn't my choice," I grumble.

"I think you look cute. Oh, and before I forget..." She takes her phone and snaps a picture of me. "Sam is gonna love this," she says, sending the photo to my uncle. Great.

"Okay, can we please move on? What are you doing anyways?" I ask, trying to change the subject.

"I'm actually hunting a bigger game this year," Lizzie responds.
