"'Hope... what the hell is that?'" It's the middle of the night, and we hear a weird alarm going off. I'm in Hope's room, with her sleeping on top of me.

"I think it's the trap I set for the monsters," she says, quickly getting off of me. "Come on, let's go."

"Yeah, yeah, just five more minutes, please." I try to pull the covers back over me, but unfortunately, she throws the blanket off of me.

"Y/n, put some pants on and let's hurry."

"Uh, fine." The things I do for this woman. I put some pants on, and we rush out, meeting with Dr. Saltzman and Dorian in the hallway.

The four of us go outside to see this new monster. "I know this is important, but you couldn't have put pants on first?" Hope asks, referring to Dr. Saltzman not wearing pants.

"Yeah, why do I have to wear them?" I chime in.

"I believe I told you to sleep in different rooms," Dr. Saltzman says.

"But I need cuddles to sleep," I respond, and he just lets out a sigh.

Anyway, we make our way to where Hope set the trap, and we see a white horse. Great, I put on pants for a freaking horse.

"False alarm, it's just a horse. It must've got out of the stables and wandered across the barrier spell," Dorian states.

"Except we don't have a white horse," Hope says. The horse turns to us, and it's a freaking unicorn.

"It's a unicorn. Damn, I need to take a picture for Lizzie." I take my phone out and snap a picture of the unicorn.

Both Dr. Saltzman and Dorian aim their weapons at the unicorn, ready for action. However, Hope swiftly positions herself between them and the mystical creature. "Wait! Hold your fire!" Hope urges.

"It's a monster, Hope. It's here for the artifact," Dorian insists, keeping his crossbow trained on the unicorn.

"You're not seriously suggesting we kill a unicorn?" Hope questions.

"I'm suggesting not to give him a pass just because he's cute," Dorian maintains.

"Can't we just leave it there? I mean, it's trapped; he can't go anywhere," I suggest.

"Y/n is right. As long as we keep it alive, other creatures won't come after the urn. We stay alert and let it be," Dr. Saltzman agrees.

"Good. Now, can we please go back to bed?" I ask, pouting. Hope pecks my cheek and leads me back to her room to get some rest until morning.

I can't believe we have to deal with an actual unicorn. Being in Mystic Falls had turned my life into something incredible. Even though I miss Sam, he went to New Orleans to find out about my real parents so we can figure out what kind of supernatural I am.

I offered to go with him, but he told me to stay here and be with Hope. Sam believed I'd be safest with her, and I one hundred percent agree. I always feel safe around her. Here in Mystic Falls, supernatural surprises were a part of everyday life. Having Hope by my side made me feel secure. Sure, going to New Orleans was tempting to discover my true origins, but I knew being with Hope was the right choice.

I wake up to the sensation of soft kisses on my neck, a sweet start to the day. My eyes flutter open, and I'm greeted by the sight of the gorgeous blue eyes I've come to adore. A smile automatically lights up my face, mirroring the one on hers, as she leans in to kiss me.

"Morning to you too, beautiful," I greet my girlfriend, who seems to be in an exceptionally cheerful mood.

"Morning, handsome," she says, stealing another sweet kiss.
