I'm proud of myself,
And I know I sound conceited.
I am fighting this battle,
Yet I still haven't beat it.
Proud because I've come this far.
Proud because we all know
That this life is quite hard.
Proud because I have received in the mail,
Three opportunities for scholarships,
So this means I still have not failed.
Yes, it has been rough,
Because she doesn't seem to care.
