After a few rounds of ale, everyone- except for me, who was only mildly tipsy due to the size difference between myself and my party-mates- was pretty damn drunk.

"Hey guys." Ophelia piped up as she struggled to stand up.

I snickered as she had to brace herself against the table in order to keep herself upright.

"You guys wanna go out and smoke?" She continued.

"Sure!" Mythris piped up.

"Oh, fine. What the hells." I added.

Not trusting Ophelia around Mythris in the slightest, I elected to join them and Grug followed silently behind us as we left the tavern and were welcomed outside by fresh, moving air that didn't reek of alcohol and bad choices. Beside me, Mythris reached up and removed a pre-rolled blunt that he had tucked behind one of his ears and with a snap of his fingers, produced a small green flame that he used to light the blunt. After he took a hit, he passed it up to me and when I declined, he instead passed it to Ophelia; who in turn took a hit and passed it back to Mythris. In the meantime, Grug had produced his own lit pre-rolled joint that he had started puffing on.

"Hey guys." Ophelia slurred once we were out in the middle of the pretty much empty town square as she took out her great axe and began to drunkenly swing it around. "Look what I can doooooo!"

Not liking the fact that she had a weapon out so close to Mythris, I growled lowly, put both hands on his shoulders, and dragged him off to my other side and out of harm's way. Stupid High Elf. I thought as I rolled my eyes.

"Gods, how dumb is she?" I muttered to Mythris. "She's making an absolute fool of herself."

"I don't know." The Drow shrugged as he took another hit from a lit blunt that he had pre-rolled. "I think it's pretty entertaining."

I watched with mild curiosity as Ophelia suddenly turned her back to the rest of us and as I crept closer to try to see what she was doing, a green glow caught my attention and I immediately got a bad feeling and made my way back towards Mythris. Before I could reach him, I watched in horror as a portal opened up behind him and a familiar Death Knight dressed in the colors of Dar'Gath emerged and impaled Mythris through the chest with what looked like a massive, eight foot long, crystal-like great sword. I could only look on in horror as the Death Knight flung Mythris to the side; five feet to its' right before it then fired an Eldrich Cannon Blast at Grug before the Half-Orc could do anything; which sent the Druid sailing back about a good twenty feet into a nearby wall and was knocked unconscious as a result.

Another portal opened up behind Ophelia and a being of red flames and metal armor emerged.

"Leave the rest." He commanded the Death Knight as two long blades cloaked in red fire materialized from his wrists. "We just need him."

I immediately knew he was referring to Mythris. Oh, in your fucking dreams! I thought. Sensing a dangerous fight ahead, I quickly took Shadow out of her cat-pack and set her down in front of me on the stone pavers. I'll be damned if anything happens to you.

"Go and find a safe place to hide." I urged her quietly. "I will call for you when it's safe."

With a meow of what I felt was understanding, she thankfully did.

"Over my dead fucking body!" I snarled threateningly once I was sure that Shadow was safe.

As the Death Knight went to pick up Mythris by his head, I lowered my head and rushed the armored figure; red tinting the edges of my field of vision. Let go of him, you tin can! I gritted my teeth as a slight pain fanned out across my skull while a faint clang could be heard as my horns and the top of my skull made contact with the Death Knight's armor; the impact was thankfully enough to jarr the entity into releasing its' hold on the Drow; dropping him to the ground.
