The Great Divide (Part 1)

~Jinhai POV~

Before we got to the North Pole, we had to rest. I'll tell you this: sitting on Appa while he's flying has hurt our butts. We're only a few days away from reaching our goal so the least we could do was rest.

While Sokka was working on the tent, Kat and I got firewood while Aang was on the lookout for some fruit.

We saw that Sokka put the tarp inside the tent.

Kat: Um, aren't you forgetting the tarp?

Sokka: Right... got it.

He picked up the tarp and threw it in the tent! What is he thinking?!

Kat: Sokka, you're supposed to put the tarp on TOP of the tent. You know, so we don't get rained on.

Sokka: Ordinarily, you'd be right, but seeing how it's the dry season, you're not. Besides, that tarp makes a pretty warm blanket.

Jinhai: What if it DOES rain?

Sokka: But what if it doesn't? Then I would've put the tarp up for nothing.

Kat stamped her foot and I had to let her talk.

Kat: You're so infuriating!

Sokka: Katara, why don't you worry about gathering the firewood because that kindling's looking pretty sorry.

Kat: Well if you don't like our firewood, then have at it!

Sokka raised his hands to block all of the firewood coming into his face while I was angry at both of them and Aang was confused.

Aang: Do they fight this much?

Jinhai: Arrowhead, if you were a part of the South Pole for 3 years, you'd get the idea.

After some fighting, Aang had a solution: Katara can do the tent while Sokka does the firewood. It worked out for all of us so I had to ask Kat if I could help, which she obliged.

As I helped with the tent, Aang brought back some fruit and I was starving a little bit.

Jinhai: Hey Aang! Pass me two apples for Kat and I will ya?

Aang: Sure!

He gave us an apple as the job was well done. While we ate our apple, we sat down next to each other.

Kat: You miss the South Pole? I heard you and Aang talking about it.

Jinhai: Yeah, I kinda do, but at least we left for a good reason.

Kat: I agree with you on that at least we have each other.

Jinhai: Including Horsetail and Arrowhead?

Kat: Yeah. Say Jinhai, if we do ever go back to Kyoshi, what would be your reaction?

Jinhai: This early? I don't know, maybe when the time is right?

Kat: Good choice. You know with everything we've been through, it all leads to something right?

Jinhai: Yeah, and that would be my love for Mei.

Kat: Agreeable. While you were grabbing fruit with Aang, did you think of anything you wanna write to her?

Jinhai: I haven't yet. If I do think of something, I'll let you know.

Kat: Thanks.

The next day, we flew near the canyon which looked so beautiful, even I was impressed. I've never seen anything like this before!
