*next day*

"I can't believe you didn't tell me." I groaned in frustration as I scrambled around the office.

Ukai was standing in my office with a sheepish smile.

"I didn't think it was going to be that bad." He shrugged which only made me raise an eyebrow disapprovingly.

Ukai came to me after the boy's practice complaining that his back hurt. It was probably from yesterday's fiery match with his grandpa. Of course, he didn't tell any of the boys that he lost and Hinata was forbidden to talk about it.

And even though Ukai's determination was strong in the match, his body must have given up faster so it paid him back with this backache.

"Well, come sit down. Don't just stand there." I impatiently gestured for him to sit down on the bed.

I wasn't annoyed with him but I was more so worried because of how much of a problem a backache can be.

He followed my instructions and sat down with a strained expression.

"I'm guessing your pride is more important to you than your health." I said while pressing into different places on Ukai's back to determine where was the problem.

"Of course- Ow! It's not." Ukai groaned in pain as my hand found a sore spot. "Can't you be a little more gentle?" His eyes narrowed and he gave me a sour look.

I could tell how Ukai's back muscles were strained and I could imagine the pain he was in. My hands slowly moved across his back pressing into his muscles and massaging the ones that seemed sore.

"I don't understand you, Ukai. Why do you need to be so competitive with your grandfather. Is it just your stubbornness to show him that you're better?" I sighed tiredly because I found Ukai's stubbornness quite confusing.

"It's not that." He groaned. "...Well, some of it is." He admitted after a minute.

I sigh and roll my eyes at his childish response. Ukai noticed that and immediately responded.

"But you don't understand, that old man has been bugging me ever I told him that I decided to train Karasuno." He says with a defeated tone and his posture slumped a bit.

"Hey, don't sit like a cashew while I'm trying to help you." I lightly slapped him on the nape which made him straighten up immediately.

He turned his head slightly toward me with a smug look.

"You like to boss people around, huh." He teased.

"Oh, you're the one to talk, you boss people around all day when you coach." I said jokingly and chuckled.

Ukai's smile grew and slowly turned from a soft smile to a mischievous grin.

"You're right about that, I like to boss people around and not just on the court. I much more enjoy bossing people around in more...intimate situations." He smirked and his eyes gave my body a quick scan.

My expression froze when I heard his comment and a blush quickly crept up to my cheek. But before it could get any more awkward I took his face and forcefully turned it forward again.

"Shut up and let me work." I huffed trying to mask my shyness which only earned me a soft chuckle from Ukai.

I continued to massage Ukai's back and Ukai continued to groan in pain when I got to the more painful areas.

"You have really done that." I sighed, pitying him. "Well, I've massaged through your whole back, there's not much more I can do. You shouldn't do much hard work using your back and rather rest to make the healing process quicker." I step away from him and observe his expression to make sure he's listening.

Ukai seems to think about it as he hums and nods lightly.

"It would make sense to rest, wouldn't it..." He says nodding and I can already tell that there'll be some argument following against my advice.

"...but even if dial it back the coaching, I still have the store to take care of and there's no one to replace. I can't just close it."

My smile faltered as he brought up a good point that couldn't be overlooked. Although, I really didn't want to see him carry heavy boxes all day and needing to lean down and up. That'd only make his situation worse.

"Yeah...that's problem" I said hesitantly while pondering how to approach the situation.

Ukai was only looking at me and after a second stood up and patted my shoulder caringly.

"Don't worry, I'll make it through, somehow." He smiled reassuringly as his thumb gently caressed a small part on my shoulder.

As he said it, his hand left my shoulder and he went to the door of my office to leave.

"Wait, no!" I called to him to which he immediately turned around.

"Yes?" His smile went wide like his back wasn't in pain.

"Maybe, I could help you at the store a bit. I won't be able to be there the whole day but maybe before and after my work I could come around and help." My tone was a little awkward because I didn't know if it was a stupid idea to offer him help. Maybe I wouldn't be of any help, maybe I'd just be an inconvenience to him and be in the way.

Ukai watched me for a while, his expression unreadable. The silence was killing me and making me doubt that I even opened my mouth.

Ukai took a few steps to me and then smirked.

"You would like to help, huh. But I'll have you know that it's a lot of hard work. These muscles didn't grow themselves." He said smugly and flexed with right arm at me.

"And I'll have you that I'm not that weak either." I argued.

Ukai leaned closer to me that our eyes were on the same level.

"Oh really? Well, we'll see later." His voice was a little lower as he looked into my eyes.

Before I could even react, Ukai straightened back up again and walked up out of my office with 'see ya later' and waved his hand in the air.
