Good news, I'm still living and my baby girl's health has improved a whole lot.I woke up to hear my dramatic grandma reading her bible scriptures about health with her wet palm on my forehead.
The smell of the olive oil was okay, but the stink root she keeps using was rather unpleasant.
Feeling weak was the reason why I stayed quiet and listened. Until she noticed me after a few minutes when the prayer finished and her eyes opened.
My doctor placed me on official bed rest until later I'll be updated on if I could leave.
Just like Sani, I was put on fluids but also needed blood which was stressing.
Stress is another thing, it's what causes my miscarriage or so I thought.
Daddy and Lani stayed after everyone left this morning to grab some things in Falmouth since it was closer.
So when the doctor was giving us an update, I never expected an ultrasound machine to be wheeled in the room.
An with my belly exposed, he moved the wand and there goes a baby as well as an heartbeat. I knew that look all too well and I looked at daddy who was grinning as he knew it too.
He was with me for my ultrasound when Sani was in my tummy.
"So it wasn't a miscarriage?" Lani inquired.
"It was, unfortunately. But in some rare cases and being my first to experience. You got pregnant around two different time frames."
My eyes widened.
"The first embryo was quickly shed from the walls of the womb while the second is in more of a developed state. It's impossibly rare for two embryos to share the womb with only one making it to delivery. But to say if this was to happen in another case, it would be fraternal twins."
Daddy chuckled and Lani got up in disbelief.
"A suh unnu did a gwaan mon." Daddy commented and I hid my face with embarrassment.
"Sorry Papa Maxwell, but I couldn't help myself."
I hissed at Lani but couldn't stop the blush on my face.
"Mom, despise the situations you're going through. You might need to go easy for this pregnancy as any form of stress might lessen the chance of having more babies in the future. Not to worry though, this baby is very strong and healthy."
"But?" Daddy added and I smile.
"She's in the first trimester and it's a risky road. So no stress, no heavy lifting, no standing for long periods of time, avoid stairs and every meal must be an healthy one so she can build her blood count. Lastly, instead of going to the clinic one every month for a checkup, go twice. One for your checkup and the other should be an ultrasound visit."
I nod to the doctor and casted my eyes to Lani who has the biggest grin on his face.
When the doctor left, daddy went to check up on Sani as grandma was there with her. He says he'll ask if Sani and I can share a room.
Lani got the ultrasound pictures and can't stop staring at it. While I'm calculating the weeks I've been pregnant as something doesn't add up.
Based on my calculations, he got me pregnant the first time we had sex.
I covered my mouth in shock.
I can't even blame him as I couldn't wait to ride him in his front seat without a condom. He pulled out, or he tried to at least.
