Making slow step into the house to please Lani, I held back my laugher. He held baby Zae or Dani so I can go inside and relax. It was only this morning that I had her and I'm out before six pm.
It was a quick one and I told to tell the doctor not to listen to Lani who wanted me to stay overnight.
I was good and so was our healthy baby that could've been born without me noticing that I was pregnant.
Our housekeeper was here and greeted me with knitted blanket. She made one for every baby in her life and even Sani got one too.
"Thank you Miss Scarlett."
"You're welcome, Zayelle. I figured you'll need a shower so I put some things together for you." She smiles and I hugged.
She has been working here for so long that she's like family to us. Or to Lani and I.
The house was different when Hari was born. We were fusses over but with the suddenly situations had put us all in a position where Lani and I need to figure things out together.
I took care of myself before I joined him in our room where the Dani is awake and kicking.
Her tiny body in the center of the bed, searching around for mommy's breast milk.
I climbed into bed and took her up, quickly popping a nipple in her mouth as she greedily fills her mouth.
Lani bought me soup on the way home, but by the smell coming through the opened door, he was downstairs cooking.
My mind starts to focus on the one thing I wish to erase. Seeing that woman.
It's easy to see her, but it's hard to forget that I did.
Then I wondered why it was now that things keeps happening. What was our next move?
An by us, Lani and I.
The dislike for his brother seems to run much deeper than just that pregnancy thing. It's only the surface as Lani is the forgiving type.
Maybe to me and his friends.
After Dani burped and was laying asleep, I was about to lay next to her to have a nap when Lani walks in with food.
"That looks good, baby." I awed and he grins, putting it on the bed over my lap.
"Not as good as you, babe." Then he pecks my lips. "You're beautiful."
"Mhmm." I blushed, taking up the fork. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." He watches me taste it and I closed my eyes to have the dramatic effect.
Lobster and pasta, baked potatoes and sauteed veggies with drizzled with a sweety homemade honey sauce. Then a glass of fruity blend with a little ginger.
"It's delicious." I told him, going for more to fill my mouth.
"Happy to serve."
He went to shower and went he returns, he put the empty things aside and climbed into bed behind me.
Being so close to him as he caresses me, sleep came quickly.
From then, I only woke up to pee, eat, breastfeed and did my hygiene. For a whole week straight and the rest was healing.
On the sixth day, we were off to the clinic to get Dani her first official checkup and vaccination. Along with my checkup as well.
Everything was fine with us until a syringe was pulling out.
