If I though Montego bay was hot, I regretted it.

Nothing beats the heat that the Kingston area had except for good air conditioner. Or was it the area we're in.

The east side of the island seems to be placed over hell and above it is a fire furnace.

Even the nights are hot.

"Ya behave too extra now Elle." Daddy laughs, bringing in the new gas cylinder he just bought.

Cause why it empty inna the first place, then mih remember him cyaw really cook suh a him ooman probably done it.

"Cyaw wait fih guh back a mobay. Mih nuh si the hype bout yah cause even the air polluted." I criticizes.

I did so mainly to teases him and I got him good.

He stops and looked at me as if he was considering giving me up for adoption.

Too late.

"Hurry up and gwaan a yuh yaad." He hissed, hiding his smile as he went inside so I locked the grill.

"Alright, suh mih nuh affi cook then?" I asked, following him in.

Mih would a guh cause mih love mih yard.

"Starve Yusani grandfather and si who buy har more ice cream." He remarked.

"Yuh just vex mih nuh carry har, but mih couldn't dweet when shi deh shit suh and mih affi deh tek public transportation." I sigh.

Yusani ends up with grandma as her yard is filled with kids and it really helps with her growth.

The likkle chubs walked instead of crawling, and does so before she turns one year old.

She's that force riped.

I'm daddy's only child and I gave him a granddaughter rather earlier than I even planned.

Then to become a single mom because the shit wanted me to have an abortion. Daddy stepped up right away, so I pass my baby father like a stranger wherever and whenever we cross path.

I know he's waiting for me to come running to beg something but I pray to God that won't happen.

I'll continue to let the community think he's doing what he should. Even when he knows nothing about her or even held her.

Naw siddung tell dem mih business.

"Get a good man wah drive suh him can buy yuh a vehicle or simply mek yuh be passenger princess." Came his response.

Him know mih coward and fraid fih even walk pass truck. Mih naw tek chance drive before, behind or next to one either.

Hissing, I changed the topic as the only man I needed is Jesus.

"What yuh cooking?" He finally asked.

"Yuh live far from yuh kitchen cause mih only see a small corned beef and little rice." I held back my laugher.

He hissed, finished connecting the regulator and took out his wallet.

He passes me his bank card.

"Why yuh nuh just sen the money to mine?" I asked.

"It charge fih send it and dem still go tek out tax when yuh buy the things." He grumbled.

Laughing, I put the rice and corned beef on the counter when he hissed loudly.

"Mih nuh want dat enuh." He complained.

"A true yuh cyaw cook and this easier mek yuh tired a it." I laughed out. "Steak or lobster yuh want, daddy?"
