Jisung felt sick. He was going back to school for the first time since he had rejected his crush, Seo Changbin. Jisung hadn't of wanted to reject his friend and longtime crush, but he had been threatened by nonother than his September twin, Lee Felix.
Last year, Jisung had found out that he was adopted. He had told Felix because, back then, Felix hadn't been rude and hadn't been threatening him, in fact, they were so close that some people thought that they had been dating or really close stepsiblings, because they don't really look alike.
Jisung entered the school, his head down. He heard some girls gossiping about a new student, but he didn't care. He just wanted to get to his class. When Jisung got to English, he saw Jeongin. Jeongin waved to him, and he gave a small smile back.
After English, Jeongin approached Jisung.
"Changbin cried to us that you rejected him." Jeongin stated. "Why?"
Jisung shook his head. "I-I can't tell you."
Jeongin frowned. "Are you being bullied? Threatened? Do I need to ask Felix and Chan to beat someone up?"
Jisung sighed, tears brimming his eyes. "N-no. I'll tell you later."
And with that, Jisung stood up, going to his math class. He sat next to the window and zoned out, staring at the soccer field below where Changbin and Chan were playing soccer.
Bam!
Jisung jumped as his teacher dropped a stack of textbooks onto his desk.
"Now that mister Han is paying attention," miss Kang said, "this is our new student. Lee Minho."
Jisung stared at Minho. He was so pretty and handsome and hot, all at the same time. How was that even possible?
"Hello," Minho said, "I'm Lee Minho. I'm seventeen. I went to study in Australia when I was fifteen and I went to study in America when I was sixteen, that's why I'm in your year. Please treat me well and I hope we can all be friends."
"Well, Minho," miss Kang said, "you can sit next to Jisung. Jisung put your hand up."
Jisung put his hand up and stared at Minho as he walked over and sat next to him, almost forgetting to put his hand down.
Jisung looked down at his textbook, forcing himself not to look at Minho.
Suddenly, he heard a voice in his ear, "can we share your textbook? I don't have one yet."
Jisung nodded shyly and moved his textbook over, so Minho could see it.
After the class, it was lunch. Jisung stood up and packed his textbook away slowly.
"Hey," Minho said, his voice indicating that he was closer than Jisung would have liked, "can I sit with you and your friends?"
Jisung bit his lip. "Umm... O-ok. I'll ask them. They'll p-probably say yes."
Minho nodded, beaming at Jisung. Jisung swung his bag onto his back and walked out of the classroom. Minho followed behind Jisung as he led him to his friends.
Suddenly, Jisung stopped. "Just... Don't be surprised if they don't want me to sit with them. You can still sit with them."
Minho frowned, concerned. "If they don't want to sit with you, I'll sit with you! Your friends are horrible if they don't want to sit with someone as cute and adorable as you."
Jisung blushed shyly but shook his head. "I... Rejected one of my friends..."
Minho nodded. "Aww, don't be ashamed of feelings. If they don't accept that you don't like them, then it's ok.
Jisung nodded. "Y-you're right... Let's go."
Jisung lead the way into the cafeteria. He stopped at his usual table and dumped his bag between Chan and Jeongin, on the floor.
Chan and Jeongin were hopelessly in love with each other, but neither would confess, painfully oblivious to each other's feelings.
"Guys..." Jisung said softly. "This is Minho. He's new... Uhm, can he sit with us?"
Jeongin smiled up at Minho. "Welcome! Of course you can sit with us. I'm Jeongin."
Chan looked up at Minho and visibly tensed. "Yeah, welcome. I'm Chan..."
Minho sat down next to Felix, who was on the other side of the table.
"Hello!" Felix exclaimed. "I'm Felix!"
Just then, another person arrived at the table.
"Hey, Sung?" Changbin called softly. "Can we talk?"
Jisung looked at Jeongin for help. Jeongin shrugged and nodded in Changbin's direction.
Jisung stood up and nodded. "O-ok..."
Changbin lead Jisung out of the cafeteria.
"Hey, umm," Changbin started, "I know you rejected me, but... We can still be friends, right? I'll try to get rid of my feelings as quickly as I can."
Jisung smiled brightly and hugged Changbin, sniffling quietly. "I-I was so worried that you'd hate me for rejecting you! Thank you for not abandoning me!"
Jisung really didn't want Changbin to move on from him, but what could he do? Exactly. Nothing, as long as Felix likes Changbin.
Changbin smiled and hugged Jisung tightly. "Never."
"Never ever?"
"Never ever."
They pulled apart and smiled at each other.
"Let's go back to the others and eat." Changbin said, taking Jisung's hand.
Jisung let Changbin take him back to the cafeteria. Just when Changbin was about to shove Jeongin aside so that he could sit with Jisung, Felix said, "sit here, Changbinnie!"
"I-"
Jisung shrugged and sat down between Jeongin and Chan, avoiding Felix's gaze as Changbin dejectedly went and sat next to Felix instead of Jisung. Jeongin put his hand on Jisung's shoulder. When he saw that he had Jisung's attention, he glanced at Felix, then looked back at Jisung, raising his eyebrows. Jisung shrugged and took his lunch out of his bag.
"So, are you ok?" Chan asked.
Jisung nodded slowly. "I guess."
"I still don't get why you rejected him," Chan said in a quieter voice, "you told me that you really like him."
"I-I had to." Jisung said quietly.
"But-"
"I'll tell you later." Jisung said, opening his thermos and grabbing his chopsticks.
"He said the same to me," Jeongin said, shrugging.
"Ji, you know you can talk to us, right?" Chan asked.
Jisung nodded. "I know. I'll tell you when I can."
