Coming in unannounced

I just dragged my nails on the tile...

Irresistible by Fall Out Boy blasted through my ear  buds as I jog through the trails in the forest, the sun was just starting to shine through the trees.

I check my watch, 6:50, "I'm gonna be late!"

I skip every second step as I run up the stairs of our house, I hopped in the shower, then dried my hair, then straightened it, my dark blue streaks stood out in my bleach blond hair, I smiled at my reflection.

I put on light wash jeans, a black T-shirt, and slipped on my black high tops. I check the time on my phone, the blue and black case was the only thing protecting the screen that said, 8:07, I ran into the kitchen, grabbed my smoothie, and said goodbye to my parents as there was a knock at the door, "Thalia!", screamed the familiar voice on the other side of the door, "We are gonna be late for the last day of school," I smiled and opened the door to see my best friend Tarren Collins.

"Hey to you too," I laugh as I slip on my leather jacket and grab my blue and grey backpack, "and will you quiet down? Your gonna wake the neighbourhood."

She rolled her green eyes as we walked down the side walk, her black hair swinging with each step she takes.

On the other side of the side walk was Matt Hughs, the guy who I broke up with less then a week ago, but we were still friends, "Hey Matt!" I waved at him.

He looked up from his phone and smiled a toothy grin at me, the brake up was mutual, "Hey Thalia," that's thing in a small town, you have to end it nicely because you always see them around.

At last block I was in gym and way playing volleyball, and my team won. The bell rang and everyone said goodbye.

Tarren got picked up from school, because she is going to New York City for the summer, which left me alone.

When I got home, my parents were whispering, they both looked up when I walked into the room, I eyed them suspiciously, "What?" I ask them.

"Can we talk to you for a second, honey?" mom asked.

"OK?" I say it more as a question.

"Well," my dad started, "We know you like sports and.."

"And we have a business trip in Paris," My mom said, "and it's not a 'bring your kid' thing so..."

"So you are going to a sports summer camp tomorrow," dad finished.

My jaw was hanging, "Woe, woe, woe, slow down there, I'm not going anywhere."

"Yes you are, Thalia please don't give me a hard time. Please," My dad ran his hands through his hair, "You leave tomorrow, at 8 in the morning, the bus will pick you up at our house, you're going and that's final, so get packing."

"Fine," I say and run up to my room in the attic, I pull out my suit cases and put most of the clothing I will need, phone charger, hair supplies, and just random stuff I want to bring.

That night I fall asleep in the small pile of clothes that I'm not bringing...
