Christian sits next to me at our table, his arm around me.
We get numerous glares from many different people, mostly from Cassidy.
"So," Brody says, then looks at Carter, "Knock, Knock?"
"Oh god, why me?" Carter says.
"Just play along," Christian sighs, "He won't drop it till you do."
"Knock, Knock," Brody says once again, looking at Carter.
Carter sighs, but gives in, "Who's there?"
"Ya," Brody smiles.
"Ya, who?" Carter says, currently looking bored.
"Nah bro, I prefer Google," Brody starts laughing at his own joke and everyone looks at him like he's crazy, but sooner or later everyone is laughing at Brody's contagious laugh.
"Ok, ok," Brody says, calming himself, "Christian, knock, kno-"
"No," we all say at the same time.
"Fine," Brody pouts, "be like that."
"Aww," Marissa coos, "You're so cute when you pout."
"Gag me," Carter says.
"Lighten up, Carter," Maya says, she grabs his hand, he smiles at her.
Christian kisses me cheek before looking at Carter, "So, you do smile."
"Hey," he says, "I always smile."
Brody sniggers at Carter, which earns him a glare from him.
"Now, boys," I say in a motherly voice, "Play nice."
"Yes, ma'am," they both mock solute.
We laugh at they're silliness.
"What's so funny over here?" Says a voice from behind me.
Christians grip on my hand tightens as he stiffens.
"That's none of your business," Carter says.
"Now, is that anyway to talk to your best friends brother?" Christopher asks innocently.
"You don't have the right to call him brother," Brody says, him and Carter both standing from there seats.
"As far as I'm concerned," Carter says, "we are the only true brothers he has."
"Do you-" Christopher starts but Christian cuts him off.
"No they're right," he says angrily, "they might not be blood related or not related at all, but they are still the only people on this planet that I could call my brothers, now stop bothering me and my friends and go find someone else to bother."
Christian gets up and walk out of the room, "maybe you should go after him," Carter says to me.
I nod, I get up and brush past Christopher and sprint down the stairs of the cafeteria.
I don't see Christian anywhere, but I know where he is.
I sprint towards the forest, and go to the tall tree where he asked me out.
I slow into a walk as I see him sitting under the tree.
I don't say anything, I just go and sit on the other side of the tree, I lean my back on the tree, I hear leaves ruffling, next thing I know Christians warm figure is sitting next to me.
I lean my head on his shoulder and take his hand.
"I really don't like your brother," I say.
"Just add that to the long list of things we have in common," he smiles at me.
We sit there for a few minutes, he stands and offers me his hand, I take it and start walking away, but before I could he presses me up against the tree and kisses me.
We stay there for a few minutes just enjoying each other's company.
"We should get back," I say breathlessly.
He gives me a questioning look.
"The boys are worried about you, they weren't kidding about them being your brothers," I say.
He looks at me, "Ya, I know, neither was I."
He gives me one last kiss before taking my hand, slowly walking towards the cabins.
"You want to go ride the horses?" He asks me out of nowhere,
"Ya, sure," I say looking at him curiously, "Why?"
"Because it'll be fun," he says blankly, "Also, because Christopher is scared of horses, so he won't bug me there."
I laugh, "Well, then let's go."
-------------------------------------
We tack up the horses, "lets take the trail that goes down to the river," Christian says.
"Ok," I nod.
Christian is riding the horse his mom bought him, she is a gorgeous grey and white appaloosa named Artemis.
My horse I've had for years, my dad had him sent here about a week ago.
He's a black Thoroughbred named Jolt, he has a white streak on his muzzle.
"You've got a beautiful horse by the way," Christian says to me.
I smile, "Thanks, my dad bought him for me when he was 6 months, I started riding him at 2 years, and he's five now, we have a tight bond, your horse is gorgeous too."
"We have the same story as you guys, my mom also pitied me after the divorce, so she bought me a dog."
"My parents did the same thing once Trip left for college," I laugh, "what breed?"
"German Shepherd, his name is Scout, what about you?" He asks.
"Border Collie, her name is Airabell," I smile thinking of her, "My parents are bringing her on family day."
"My mom is bringing Scout too," he smiles, probably thinking of his dog.
"So let me get something straight," I say as we cross the river, "Family day is 2 days and 1 night?"
"Yup," he says popping the "p".
"Great, I really hope Tamara doesn't come," I say, "but I'm excited to see my brothers, they all stayed at their colleges because they all had sport training."
"I wish my brother still went to school and did sport training," Christian sighs, "but sadly not."
I laugh at him.
"Hey, don't laugh at me," he says.
"Sorry," I say, still trying to he in my giggles, "You just so pouty."
"So are you," he retorts"
"Then add that to the long list of things to the things we have in common," I say quoting his words from earlier.
"So, you actually listen to me complain?" He says faking surprise.
"What do you think? It goes in one ear and out through the other?" I ask him laughing.
"Well," he says, dragging it on, "You do have the attention span of a goldfish."
"Hey!" I slap his arm.
"Don't argue with the truth, gorgeous," he winks at me.
I ride up ahead pretending to ignore him.
"Hey, look I'm sorry, ok?" He look at me genuinely.
I smile, "I'm kidding, believe it or not you are to annoying to ignore."
"Wow, thanks, Blondie," He emphasizes 'Blondie'.
"Is that my nickname or something?" I ask.
"Yup," he says, "I like it, it has a nice ring to it."
I laugh and roll my eyes, "I'll race you back to the stables."
"Ok, on the count of three."
"Ok," I say, "Three," and with that I take off.
"Hey, come back here cheater," I hear him say.
My parents told me when I was doubting my feelings for Matt, that I should be with someone that makes me laugh, Matt made me smile and giggle, but Christian makes me full out laugh, it scares me that I fall more for him with every word he says.
