((Y/N)'s POV)

I had spent a few days in the hospital wing after I woke up. Harry and Ron made sure to visit me during their breaks and after school for a little bit. Harry had even brought me my sketchbook and pencil so I wouldn't be too bored throughout the day, which I was eternally grateful for. Hermione had even popped in a few times, expressing her thanks and delivering me copied notes of the lesson and any homework that had been set so that I wouldn't fall behind. Fred and George even made an appearance, though it was only brief, they spent the entire time teasing me for my "heroic behaviour" and looking through my drawings, which they were very impressed by.

In the lead up to Harry's first match I had borrowed a Quidditch book from the library. I had stayed up late into the night, reading the rules and summarising them so that I could understand it a bit better. I even relayed some of the rules to Harry, who was grateful for my support. Hermione, Harry and Ron became friends in the time I spent in the hospital wing. She often helped them with homework which helped me focus on mine inturn. We had a respect for each other at the moment, though we aren't fully friends yet as I've only been around her 2 days so far.

It was the morning of Harry's first match and he was nervous, anyone could tell that. Ron and I kept encouraging to eat, Hermione throwing in little facts to try and help, but Harry wasn't hearing us properly. Too stuck in his own worries. Snape walked over, "good luck today Potter, though I imagine that since you beat a troll a little game of Quidditch shouldn't be too much for you, even if it is against Slytherin," he says, somewhat sassily. He looks over at me. "Thank you for taking me to the hospital wing professor," I say politely. He did help me after all so he deserves at least some respect even if he can be mean. He nods his head at me and walks off, with a slight limp. "That explains it then," Harry says out of nowhere. "What are you on about?" I ask, genuinely confused. "Look, it's only a hunch but I'm guessing Snape let the troll in last night as a diversion so he could get to the trapdoor," Harry whispers to us. "But why would anyone want to get past that thing?" Hermione asks. I remember the package Hagrid picked up when we went to Gringotts. "When Hagrid picked me and Harry up he collected a package, whatever that package is, someone might be after it. Though I don't think it's Snape Harry," I explain. "So you're saying," Hermione starts, Harry cuts her off. "That's what the dog's guarding, that's what Snape wants" Harry continues to whisper.

We hear an owl fly through the window. Looking up we see a broomstick being carried by Hedwig, who drops it in Harry's hands and flies off to the teachers table. Harry catches it and places it down in front of us. "It's a bit early for mail isn't it?" Hermione says. "We never get mail," I say looking at Harry. "Well let's open it!" Ron says excitedly. We all start untying the strings, moving the paper off to reveal a brand new broomstick. "It's a broomstick," Harry says, smiling. "It's not just a broomstick Harry, it's a Nimbus 2000!" Ron says, shocked and excited as he marvels at the broomstick. Other people start to take notice of the broomstick, gaping at it. "But who...?" Harry asks quietly. I look over and see Hedwig being pet by professor Mcgonagall. I poke Harry's shoulder and point over to the two. Harry looks up and locks eyes with Mcgonagall, she smiles at him warmly and continues to pet the snowy owl in front of her. "She reminds me of a mother," I whisper only so Harry could hear. He laughs quietly at this and finally eats some food.

At the end of breakfast, everyone starts making their way to the pitch. Harry splits off from us to meet with the rest of the team. Ron, Hermione and I manage to bag seats on the front row, waiting for the two teams to arrive. Hagrid arrives and stands next to us, cheering for Harry. Trumpets start and students in red and yellow or green and silver start flying around the pitch. While trying to spot Harry I see the twins synchronising with each other while flying. I finally spot my brother, flying smoothly on his broom, a bit higher than everyone else. I cheer loudly and he looks over at me smiling. Everyone then flies in positions after doing a couple laps. Harry and Slytherin's Seeker above everyone else. Madam Hooch says a couple words to them before kicking open the box. The Bludgers and Snitch fly out the box. She then throws the quaffle up and whistles signalling the start of the game. I focus on Harry through the majority of the game. Harry narrowly misses a Bludger that the Slytherin team hit towards him as he claps for his teammate. This gets him to focus on the game again, doing laps to try and find the tiny gold ball. He's nearly hit by a bludger a few times but Fred and George save him each time. This leaves Wood defenceless and he gets hit straight in the chest by a bludger. Wincing as he slowly descends to the ground, knocked out. Slytherin's captain starts playing unfairly, unfortunately though he doesn't break any rules. He and another Slytherin chaser take out a Gryffindor chaser.

With two players down Slytherin starts gaining points. I notice Harry start shooting towards something, seeing a slight glimmer in the sun. I know he's going after the snitch. "GO HARRY!" I yell at the top of my lungs. Hermione, Ron and Hagrid do the same once they realise he's seen the snitch. Harry ducks as a Bludgers flies over his head. His broom starts jerking around violently and I know somethings up. "Harry's broom is going haywire, he's a smooth flyer as well so someone's sabotaging him," I say to Ron and Hermione. Hermione grabs Hagrid's goggles and looks towards the teacher stand, seeing Snape muttering under his breath. "It's Snape, he's controlling Harry's broom," she says, handing the goggles back and leaving to go help. Harry's flung off the broom but keeps firm grip on it. Hanging onto it with both hands as it tries to shake him off. "C'mon Hermione!" Ron yells desperately. I have tears in my eyes, worried about my brother's safety. Harry's broom stops shaking and he's able to haul himself back on. "Thank you Hermione," I whisper under my breath, putting a hand over my heart in relief. He rockets towards the Slytherin Seeker who's trailing the snitch, barging into him. They shove into each other, trying to knock the other off their broom. They dive for the snitch, the Slytherin Seeker looks between Harry and the ground before pulling up fearfully. Harry pulls up just before he hits the ground, standing on his broom as he reaches for the snitch. I tense in worry, too on edge to say anything. He falls on the ground, rolling over multiple times. "Harry!" I yell worried over him. He starts choking and Hagrid says," looks like he's gonna be sick," which doesn't help my worries. Harry coughs out a gold ball that lands in his hands. Everyone cheers as the snitch flies around him. Madam Hooch blows her whistle as she flies on her broom, "GRYFFINDOR WINS!" she yells out for everyone to hear. The Slytherins boo but are drowned out by the cheers of all three houses. "WELL DONE HARRY!" I yell, cupping ,my hands over my mouth. He smiles in my direction. Harry's team flew around him, clapping for him. I see Fred and George hit their bats together in celebration, as they can't clap at the moment. What an eventful game Quidditch is.
