Chapter 28: Stress Reliever

Man, the past 24 hours have almost been weighing on me. We got a call from Vontè about the situation with Damon, it seems like that child can't find any type of peace. He's already been through so much over this past year, hell these past 6 months alone and whenever he tries to do right it seems like his past keeps trying to come back to bite him. I don't know what more I can do for him, I feel like I'm failing him again. I got in my car and headed towards the school. But before I did that I stopped by Kash's Liquor Store.

"Hey Jahmelle you doing alright?" Kash asked me as I walked into the store.

"Not really man, just a lot going on." I told him. "Don't really want to talk about it, I just came to get some Alizé and some Funyuns." I told him.

"Damn! Whatever it is must be serious." He said.

"Yeah, it's just drama, lots of drama." I told him.

"True, but you gotta go to the school man, you can't be drinkin' before you go teachin'." He said, giving me a crooked smile.

"Oh so you think you're a rapper now?" I started chuckling. "You know i needed that man, i appreciate it Kash, for real." I told him.

"Hey man once i'm done working here i'll stop by your house later on." He told me. "And then i'll bring you two bottles of Alizé, on the house. But as far as Funyuns you can have as many as you want, for a price of course, i mean i got to make a profit somehow." He said laughing. "It's all good, you can get a few on the house." He said.

"Hey thanks man, I appreciate it." I said laughing as I got 2 big bags of Funyuns. "Here you go." I said, giving him a $5 bill. "Kash, I believe in paying people, I don't want anything for free, but I appreciate the gesture. I'll see you later on." I told him as I left and headed to the school. I got to the school right at 7:30, i should have been here earlier but i got a late start in the day. As I walked in I saw some of the students in class.

"Hey kids sorry i'm late." I told them. "Good thing the bell hasn't rang yet, but it should in a second." I said, and about a minute or so later it did. "Alright, i'm going to go ahead and take attendance." I took attendance and seen Khris wasn't there. "Does anyone know where Khris is?"

"No sir, i haven't seen him." Jazmine, one of my students said.

"I haven't seen him either." Another student said.

"No i haven't seen him." One more student said.

"Alright thanks." I said. "Alright class, let's begin." Classes flew by and around 1:30pm I was done with my last class for the day. School wasn't over for another 2 hours so I just pondered in my thoughts for a while.

(Knocking) "Hey Jahmelle, i just wanted to surprise you so i was going to take you to lunch...what's wrong?" I asked him.

"These damn kids man, I tell you, were we just as bad when we were younger?" He said. I must have given him a look because then he burst out laughing. "Oh i tell you." He said.

"What's wrong?"

"You remember Damon's brother Khris right?"

"Yeah, I remember you mentioning him, and from what you told me he was pretty decent."

"Yeah, he didn't show up for class today, which usually isn't like him, and no one's seen him the entire school day."

"Let me guess, he got you STRESSED as well."

"That, along with grading some of these papers. It's like some students refuse to be taught or they aren't paying attention. Probably on their flip phones and all." He said.

"Yeah i definitely agree with that, when we were growing up we didn't have all that, we had pagers and Nintendo 64 & playstation." I told him laughing. "Remember we're not much older than these kids now, and in another 10 years from now they might have better phones and better games, and what about 20 years from now, we might have self-driving cars and Virtual Reality."

"What makes you even think we'll make it to 2025, the way the world is now? I'm surprised we made it to 2005." He said.

"True, well baby let me help you take your mind off of all of this." I went over and rubbed his shoulders and nibbled on his ear and he let out a soft moan.

"Damn you know that's my spot."

"I thought this was your spot." I said as I began sucking on his neck, I knew exactly what I was doing.

"You gotta what? You have no more classes for today."

"I know but....but....I-I-I got to grade these papers..."

"Fuck them kids." I told him. "I'm tryin' to fuck you, grade them papers later." I put him up on the table and we began kissing more and more.

"Wait, let me make sure the door's locked." He said. He got off the table and made sure the door was locked, good thing there was no window on the door. "Alright, i'm ready."
