Chapter 7: Dinner & A Movie

7:00am

Tyrone

I woke up and looked at my alarm clock and saw that it was 7am. It's been a week since me and Jahmelle had really talked and seen each other. I was still remembering that kiss that me and him shared. I didn't really know how to take that, both of us didn't, ever since then the energy between us had been pretty weird. I don't know if it's just the sexual tension between us that you could cut with a knife or if it's more than that. I mean we've talked here and there on the phone and all but other than that, that's it. Speaking of that, I looked at my phone and saw if I had a new text message from Jahmelle. We texted each other last night before I went to bed. I got up and turned the radio on and it was on 102.5 TSLS (St. Louis Sound) and they was playing Sinistar Voicez - "Do Or Die" on the radio, definitely a classic song. After the song went off the local DJ came on with a radio announcement.

"What's going on everyone this is your DJ here DJ B-Smoove with the weather, today it's supposed to be a nice, warm, 72 degrees fahrenheit and tonight the temperature is supposed to be a cool, breezy 59 degrees. Also tonight they'll be a couple of movies playing in Fairground Park over on Natural Bridge Avenue, They'll be playing the latest movie, The Longest Yard there, as well as Coach Carter, and Guess Who." He said. "Be sure to be there by 6:00pm, they'll start showing The Longest Yard at 6:15pm, then around 8:00pm they'll show Coach Carter, and finally around 9:45pm they'll show Guess Who. Admission at the park will be $6.30¢ and snacks and drinks will be provided as well. Now back to the music." He said as the next song began to play.

I went and took care of my morning hygiene and I went into my kitchen and made some breakfast, a few bagels with cream cheese. Then I relaxed a bit and watched a bit of TV, and watched some shows on VH1 and Comedy Central. Then around 8:30am I got my phone out and went ahead and called Jahmelle, I hope that he was home though. After about the third ring he answered it.

"Hey what's up man? How's it going?"

"Hey.....I was just wondering what you were up to? I was gonna ask you if you had plans for tonight. Maybe i could take you out for a dinner and a movie?" I asked. He tried to reply but he started stuttering.

"Are you nervous?" I asked, smiling, he tried to fix his voice, to no avail.

"N-n-no, ain't nobody nervous." He said. "Look, I'll go with you, but we're going just as friends." He told me. "Two homeboys hanging out and catching up, nothing more, or nothing less." He said, i knew that he wanted more, as did i, but i didn't want to rush anything.

"Alright man, that's cool, that's cool." I said.

So What time does the movie start?"

"It starts around 6:00 PM. I was thinking afterwards we could go get dinner."

"Well I mean that's Movie and a Dinner, not dinner and a movie." He bursted out laughing.

"Well look at you trying to be correct, lol. Anyway i'll pick you up around 5:30 PM." I told him.

"I'm definitely gonna enjoy spending time with you, Tyrone."

"Alright, we'll talk to you later on, Bye Jahmelle."

"So i guess me and him are going out tonight, I mean he's just as nervous as i am about this date, or whatever it is." I told Kash as I talked to him about going out with Tyrone tonight.
