This book is about the books I've read. I started writing my thoughts about the books I read in 2022. Writing reviews isn't my cup of tea but writing small notes about it is interesting. I decided to start doing this since I don't trust my mind to r...
As I was reading this book, it felt like I was reading my hubby's thoughts. So, some of the things the author wrote here aren't new to me but it's just amazing to read a book about it. I was in awe while reading the book. All the perspectives about the afterlife are thought-provoking. I wish that they were all true.
Would you believe that we are all part of God? Would you even accept that we are all just consciousness? That I am you and you are me. That we just project our bodies so we can see what we look like and it won't matter when we are dead. Our ego blocks us from knowing the truth from this illusion that we dwell in and strongly believe in.
Are these all perplexing? Of course, it is puzzling when you are not open-minded and still believe in the notion that 'to see is to believe.' You don't realize that it's stopping you to experience out-of-this-world stuff. You gotta see something first before you accept that it is real. Then, you have to die first. Right?
Well, you have a choice to read this book first. It's like preparation before leaving your earthly body. This book might not be what it looks like in the afterlife but as they say 'knowledge is power.' It's an advantage that you know things.
I've always believed that we lose our memories in the afterlife but in the book you still have them. I thought you would forget the people in your life there but you don't and you get to choose if you want to see them (the ones who died) there or not. I imagined that you would just get stuck in one place (heaven or hell) but you could go everywhere or any time you want to. How cool is it that you can go back in time (to a thousand years ago) and discover if some of the known history is real or myth? You can check how your family and friends are holding up after your death. You have the choice to visit them often or not. You can go to places that you haven't been to when you were alive. Most of all, I strongly believe that spirits have bodies (as what movies show) and in the afterlife you would face God with your earthly body. I was quite wrong. Your consciousness still lingers with the absence of your body. You will turn into a light, like a ball of light. You can still think and speak. You could project your physical body again but it would take time to master. I used to believe that you don't sleep in the afterlife. Your consciousness still gets tired and drained. If you are crippled mentally and physically, you get to go to therapy. I was quite surprised by this. You get to choose if you want to be of service (job) or not.
The concept of the Principle of Freedom in the afterlife is my fave part of the book. You are free to do the things you want. It makes the afterlife easier to deal with. You are not forced to do something you don't want to do or be part of. Money and status don't matter. You spend your stay at ease and peacefully. Time doesn't exist there. It will make you think how easy life would be on Earth if the Principle of Freedom is applied.
I decided I would keep this book and lend it to my friends. I want to share the knowledge that I gained from this book. This might not be true about the afterlife but it can make someone not terrified of death. Death isn't bad at all. I came to realize that death is just the beginning of knowing our real existence. It's like living is stopping us from knowing the truth about everything such as the history of the world. Personally, I don't fear death. Reading this book makes me excitedly look forward to my death to come. I can get to be with my grandfather again.
