By the next morning, Urokodaki wakes the twins to meet him at the end of the mountain and they do so taking their breakfast with them.

Slurping up the rest of their rice porridge, they put their bowls away in their packs and give their attention to Urokodaki. His arms are crossed as he watches the two.

"Your task is to take down the demon that has been lurking around the start of the mountain. Kill it within three days and return to the hut, fail and be on your way." He instructs.

"Questions?"

"Just one: what does fighting this particular demon do for us?" Aicha asked.

"It is best for the student to understand their task on their own, instead of the master telling you all the answers." He says.

Raising a brow, Urokodaki steps to the side to show them a small campsite.

"You will remain here for the duration of your task, it's wisteria bushes will protect you. You have leave out of the north perimeter in order to be out of the wisteria." He says and with that he leaves the twins to return home.

The women put their stuff down by the unlit fire pit and takes this time to familiarize their surroundings. Soon enough, night fell came and the twins prepared themselves.

Amara twists her wrists while holding her weapons, setting up her muscles for any future conflicts. Aicha fixes her water skin pouch over her right hip and looks at her older sister.

"Ready?" Aicha asks.

"Let's do this." Amara says and they set off towards the north.

Three hours have passed since they had begun their search and so far, the only thing they were seeing was the never ending forest and the fog that suddenly appeared in the second hour.

Growl

The twins halt in the middle of the forest and look around the area, checking for anything out of place, their hands on their weapons.

Growlll

Standing back to back, their eyes adjusted to the fog around them and familiarized the shadows of the trees, bushes and the tree stumps.

"Do you smell anything?" Amara asks.

"No, nothing. It's like it's trying to lead its scent off the trail. I have no way of knowing where it is." Aicha tries to lock her senses on at least something than the undergrowth and some faint smells of the wisteria flowers.

"Go away..." the ghostly moan resonated from to their left.

The twins follow the voice and suddenly cover their noses due to a terrible smell and stop in the middle of the forest to cough.

Amara holds on to a nearby tree taking deep breaths behind her hand to suck up some kind of clean oxygen.

"Amara, get your mask on! It's paralyzing gas!" Aicha yells and pulls out a brown mask from her pack.

Amara does the same and opens her tear filled eyes in to the glasses of the mask and saw a hulking shadow blur to the left.

"Go Away!!" The growl is louder in this area and Amara swipes her Knobkerrie as it got close to her right leg. Missing, Amara looks around the smokey forest.

There is a deafening silence, but the twins keep all of their senses open. They moved to stand back to back, their shoulders touching, to feel when either one of them would make the first move against the monster.

"It's trying to go for position, trying to make us separate." Amara says.

"Then let's make sure we don't give it that chance." Aicha pulls her ninchirin sword closer to her chest, prepared to swing.
