Mike's perspective at work upstairs in the conference room:
Mike's life was turned upside down when David broke the news that his arch-nemesis, Daniel, had resurfaced in the upstairs conference room, accompanied by a coworker intent on destroying Mike's reputation at work.
As Mike peeked through the window, watching Daniel and his colleague concoct a plan to take him down, he reassured himself, "Don't let his manipulation get to you. He's trying to ruin what you've built and love."
Taking a deep breath, he thought, "Just go in there and show him what you're made of." Mike strode into the conference room, facing Daniel and his colleagues.
David's associate acknowledged Mike's arrival, saying, "Ah, Mr. Michael, nice of you to join us today."
Mike sat down, replying, "Thanks, I wanted to confront him – my worst enemy, if you will."
"I see," the associate responded. "We were just discussing your reputation and set up a meeting to talk about it."
Mike's curiosity was piqued. "What's it about?"
"Daniel is here to confront you, and he's brought an associate along," the associate revealed.
Mike's eyes locked onto Daniel, who was grinning from ear to ear. "You're going to be fired, you bastard!" Daniel exclaimed.
Left speechless, Mike turned to his manager. "What is he doing here?"
His boss seemed evasive, saying, "Oh, right, I forgot to mention Daniel showed up earlier to confront you and embarrass you while we were setting up this meeting."
Daniel chimed in, "And I'll make sure the partners and my colleagues know what you've done – especially stealing my ex-girlfriend." He was determined to humiliate Mike, but Mike was resolute in defeating his nemesis, no matter how brutal the fight got.
Mike turned to Daniel, his voice firm, "You won't get away with this."
"I will," Daniel fired back at Mike. "We're not leaving until I get those receipts and we discuss your reputation at Hello Work. You're getting fired today, you son of a bitch."
David's colleague intervened, "No need for that language."
The meeting reconvened, with Mike asking, "Shall we get started?"
The partners, Daniel, and his associate gathered in the conference room to discuss Mike's reputation and uncover the truth about his affair with Priscilla, who was noticeably absent.
Mike turned to his boss, Mr. Bellamy, for salvation from his nemesis, who had tormented him with a private detective a few weeks prior.
As the meeting began, Mike implored his boss, "Please, Mr. Bellamy, I need your help. Get me out of this." Desperation crept into his voice.
Daniel's intense gaze bore into Mike, hinting at a torrent of accusations.
Mr. Bellamy, a fair but firm executive, raised an eyebrow at Mike's plea. "Mike, I can't interfere in this process. We must let it unfold."
"This is different," Mike protested, his voice rising, "Daniel has a personal vendetta against me since he discovered my affair with Priscilla. You know how he operates."
Mr. Bellamy reclined in his chair, arms crossed, his expression a blend of concern and skepticism as he scrutinized Mike.
The atmosphere in the room was oppressive, heavy with unspoken accusations and unresolved issues that hung in the air like a thick fog.
