[Flashback/Five Years Ago]

Barry wasn't sure what to think, his mind and his heart raced with thoughts and for a speedster that was saying something; standing in front of him was a face from the past..someone he'd thought was long due

"Emma? You're...alive?"

He asked the blonde standing in front of him but alas her brows raised and she looked towards her husband for clarification who just shrugged his shoulders then glanced back at the man in front of her

?: My name is Caitlin. Caitlin Snow.

She replied holding her hand out and Barry was even more confused but shook her hand anyways

"I'm sorry. You uh...remind me of someone I used to know."

Caitlin: Oh, uh...I'm sorry.

Barry just waves it off then looks towards his doppelgänger who clears his throat as he tells her

E721 Barry: Cait, this is uh...my doppelgänger. Barry Allen.

Caitlin's eyes widened like watermelons as she stared at the doppelgänger stepping towards him as she touched his cheeks to see if he was real and to her surprise he was; she'd known about the multiverse and doppelgängers and all that but she'd never actually seen a doppelgänger before

And one who didn't look like her husband was weird in and of itself as Barry clears his throat and gestures towards his E721 self who steps in to help

E721 Barry: Uh, Cait. We talked about this. Doppelgängers don't always to look like each other.

Caitlin shook her head and regained her thoughts

Caitlin: Right, yeah. It's just... it's just weird to actually see one.

E721 Barry: Yeah, I know.

Caitlin pushed the thought of doppelgängers out of her mind and kissed her husband and then told him she'd make some lunch for him and his new friend and then departed into the kitchen

And as E721 Barry followed his wife into the kitchen, Barry looked around the photos of what a happy family his doppelgänger had; he looked truly happy and his daughter..even though she looked like she wanted to be anywhere else other than right here also looked happy; along with two other children, a boy and a girl

It made Barry wonder what could've been had Iris lived and the two of them could've gotten married, had a family and did all the plans they had..but things didn't work out that way and he was left with seeing his very own doppelgänger living the life he wanted

He was happy there was a doppelgänger who had a life, a happy life..one where he didn't allow himself to become broken by the superhero but it made him angry as well..this should've been his life

E721 Barry: RRY!! BARRY!!

Barry's thoughts were broken as he turned to see his doppelgänger standing there with a plate in his hand which he'd prepared for his doppelgänger but could see the sorrow on his face

E721 Barry: You okay?

Barry glanced back at the photos thinking back to before Iris had died then looked back at E721 Barry
