I stumbled into the medical tent to see Mom sitting there.
"My eyes!" I shouted at him accidentally in both stress and horror, my vision switched constantly from blurry to blurred to clear in the past five minutes alone.

Mom looked at me confused, "Yes. Selene I know you have Heterochro-"

"My fucking eyes! I can't see!" I shouted louder at him as I rubbed my eyes roughly again hoping my vision would come back.

I felt a pair of hands escort me to a bed so I lied on it and my heart beat grew faster like the beat of a drum while I could feel my hands shaking and my eyes twitching.
"Selene...Can you hear me?"
I didn't answer as fear consumed me. What if I could never see again? What's going on with my vision?

I heard Mom call on his radio to...the warden?, "Hey, Lou, you might want to get down here in the medic tent. It's Selene..."

I felt my eyes closing and they shut quickly, not opening. I tuned out Moms voices, his walkie talkie, everything.

Three hours later...

I felt a sharp liquid that stinged my eyes being applied to the closed outer rim of my eyelid and it seethed and sinked into the interior of my eye. I winced as my instincts quickly opened my eyes and shot me up, out of breath. I felt suffocated.
I blinked profusely as I rubbed my head and rapidly got up sadly for it to result in me stumbling to the floor in pain.
"Owwww." I groaned before slowly picking myself up and rubbing my eyes, my vision clearing back to normal. Thankfully.
My feet allowed me to stand up straight a little as I scratched my head again. There was no Mr Pendanski, no tent mates, no Warden, nothing. My eyes looked down to see I was in shorts and an oversized shirt, one that clearly wasn't mine.

Panic surged over me as I looked around like a maniac. Mom walked in with a frosty glass of water which had four identical ice cubes floating in it.
He froze when he saw me frantically panicking.
He discreetly placed his glass down and walked over to me, attempting to calm me down, "Hey, hey. You're awake! I knew that remedy worked." Mom looked more proud that his recipe or whatever he called it worked on me more that I was actually awake.

I let out three harsh coughs before taking a step back, "How did you change me?"

Mom smiled harder as he answered, "I didn't. The warden did."
"Where is she?;
"We are both gl-"
"Where is she?" I cut him off as cursitoy and panic pumped through me.
"In her cabin. I could radio her?"
"No. It's alright thank you." I looked around for my clothes to not see them in sight. My eyes trailed to the floor in search of my shoes and spotted them in the corner of the tent.

Outside, the sun had almost set, I took that as the A-OK and slipped on my shoes then dashed it to the warden's cabin. My head was spinning and I couldn't help it. It hurt so much as if I fell. My eyes pained. Breathing hurts. Goodness, what is wrong with me?

I huffed out a tired breath as I reached the warden's door, knocking on it excessively with a shaking hand.

It swung open slightly before opening widely as the Warden saw me standing on her porch.
"Oh my goodness. Selene come right in darlin'."
I walked in cautiously, my hands still shaking. Her cabin was chilled with AC but right now, I was freezing.
I let out a sneeze which caused her to look at me twice.
"Did you change me?" Was the first question I could think of, the only question I could think of.

She came out with what looked like tea and she sat beside me on her couch, very closely as she wrapped a soft cotton blanket around me, "Yes, yes I did. I hope that's alright. I wouldn't want Pendanski doin' that now would I?" She chucked a little but focused on my state.
