After grabbing my water from Mr Sir, who teased me about my blistered hands, I went back to my hole which was about three feet deep and four feet wide, and continued to dig. I still had a lot to go.

After about thirty minutes of just digging while eavesdropping into the boys' useless yet funny conversations, I took a big breath, placing my shovel down next to me before looking up at the walking sound of feet. My eyes fell on the small black boots of Zero, who was walking back to camp already!?
I sighed as I looked back down at my hole which still had some work to be done. Zigzag realised my defeated sigh before telling me from his hole, "You're doing a good job, it's just Zeros a fast digger."
My eyes looked up from my hole to see Zigzag stood in his, leaning on his shovel as support as his piercing blue eyes stared into mine, a low comforting grin on his face as he attempted to give me the benefit of the doubt.
I turned my face back to Zero, who was already quite far from us as he continued his fast paced walk back to Camp. After a split second, I looked back at Zigzag to say, "You really think this is a good job?" I chuckled at him, practically on edge as I wanted to hear his answer.
"Well, yeah." he answered with a slight pause before he went back to digging his hole. The grin which I couldn't keep in anymore spread across my face like chocolate sneered over a four year olds face. I began digging again, this time along with pink tinted cheeks and an unhideable grin. Just hearing his voice made most of the pain from this hard work go away. My heart softened...and it was only my first full digging day!
Since the morning from when we set out to this destination to dig, it'd been around three hours and thankfully; I was nearing the five foot-by-five foot hole expectations. I've never been so excited or felt so accomplished in my whole life. Digging a five foot hole at this early time, let alone with my slow functioning tired body!- in this darn Texas heat is no joke. You'll melt away if you dig past 13:00!
Truth is, I feel like I am melting away in the sun like a useless ice cream left on the side of the road to feel the hot torturing wrath of the round fireball known as the Sun. I wiped away a little sweat gland that lazily sat on my forehead. A rough cough shot up my oesophagus and let itself out of my mouth, hurting my throat deeply. I got some quick and concerned stares from the other but I ignored them. Instead I was constantly thinking about how this sun is unbearable! The time now should be around 7 am. Back home, school would be starting in half an hour. School... School? I wonder how Clora is coping. She'd alway been the sensitive one in our group, well...I am kind of sensitive too but I express my sensitiveness in anger, hence the reason why I have anger issues. My therapist, Miss Norris, always tells me to release my anger by doing yoga? Flipping yoga. I chuckled a little as I thought about the short, sweet, chubby, brown-hair-bobbed lady that had huge round green glasses which slightly zoomed in her hazelnut eyes that always looked at me like I was some sort of charity case... Her pity. It was the look I hated with my whole entire heart because I knew every damn thing she'd said to me in our therapy sessions was usually true... But sometimes, she would always quote things that never made much sense to me. For example, she once told me, "If you throw an object at every barking dog you meet during your journey, you'll never reach your destination," My head replayed her voice like a mix-tape. I only now understand what she meant...
A shadowy figure appeared over my hole, no, shadowy figures appeared over my hole, towering right over it and me.
I gulped before slowly side glancing over my shoulder to be met by all of D Tent.- except Stanley who was digging, and Zero who was probably chilling back at camp. As I rotated my head back to my hole to show them I was busy, the shadowy figures still just stood there. Confusion spread over my face before I dropped my shovel and turned around fully to them. X-Ray then crouched down, just outside of my hole before lending out a hand to 'help' which I clearly knew was fake now.
