I sighed as the voices of teenage boys cat-calling and wolf whistling struck my ears. My double coloured eyes looked up from the dusty ground and I let them scan the people, along with the camp. All I was hearing left and right was wolf whistling and must I say, cringy pick up lines like: "I hope you got plasters cause I just scraped my knees while falling for you babe." Or weird lines like, "I call dibs on her." And "Seems they have a new form of entertainment boys," along with many more weird lines.

My eyes stuck to this one tent? A tent where I saw boys who looked a year older than me eyeing me down like I was their dinner or they hadn't eaten. I quickly fastened my pace, my long wavy hair moving in sync. I couldn't even try moving it out the way, ugh.

The weird shortie, who was supposedly leading me somewhere, spoke up from the awkward walk; even though he ignored the catcalling directed to me, "Well let me help ya out with all these tents and cabins then. There's the Wreck Room, that's the Mess Hall, they're the showers, but don't worry, you'll be able to go in them when there aren't many people. These tents all around us go from A all the way to F. Us counsellors sleep in F while you campers sleep in A to E. You'll be sleepin' in D-Tent! D stands for diligence. I know your a different Gender to the boys who your gonna be sleepin' near, but it'd be best if you didn't make a fuss. It's not a good thing to make the Warden angry. It's even a rule!"

He seemed so shocked by the stuff he told me? Now gosh, this guy was strange. He seemed kind a bit, but that plastic-like smile really threw me off. It was the exact fake smile my mother forced when the police walked me to my doorstep, handcuffed.

My body tensed up as I heard a voice from my right shout from one of the tents, "Yo, pretty, your hand looks lonely. Can I hold it for you?"
I looked over to my right to see a boy with black curly hair and olive skin, like me, but he had green eyes that were a bit pretty. He smiled at me before shooting a wink. I maintained all my different emotions, then looked straight, almost bumping into plastic-smile guy.

"Question, what should I address you by?" I asked him, tapping him on the shoulder a bit which made him turn around to me.

"Thanks for asking Selene. I'm Doctor Pendanski, your councillor." His smile widened, which frankly I thought was impossible at this rate.

Both me and Dr Pendanskis eyes swivelled around to three boys who looked dusty as heck, some ground dirt on them along with sand and just...general dust?
My eyes studied all three of them carefully, there was an African American one who was chubby and held a cantine reading 'ARMPIT', strange. There was another African American boy too, this one was more slim and had the biggest glasses I've ever seen. They had what looked like a decade of dust and sand on the lenses which zoomed into his big dark brown eyes. It's a miracle he can still see out of them. The one in the middle of them had his arms crossed, and was also the tallest of the three, having pale-tan skin with chocolate brown pretty eyes that stared at me, right from my shoes, to the top of my hair. Strange thing about him was that he had a shirt?- wrapped around his head.

The guy with big glasses asked, "Hey Mom, who's the new chick?" His eyebrows furrowed into upright confusion.
The other two nodded in agreement, looking at me properly through their eyes, which I was surprised they could see a thing out of, considering the layers of dust that layered around them.

"Now, Rex, that's not a way to call a lady? This here is Selene." Mr Pendanski, who I guess they referred to as Mom, spoke, answering their question.

I watched as some boys to my left started cat-calling me again, saying outrageously weird things like, "Oooo, they're lettin' chicks here now," "New entertainment boys." "Look at her eyes, they like diamonds."
"Hey, pretty girl!" They called at me like I was theirs to claim? It shocks me to high levels I didn't know I had. I made a face of disgust towards them as I started to bathe in uncomfort, standing there, cuffed and being eyed down.
