CHAPTER 9 - Fire?

TIME SKIP: AFTER WRECK ROOM-NIGHT WHISTLE BLOWN.

I was sitting on a bench, Mom in the centre of the 'circle' which wasn't really a good circle but oh well. Me, Caveman and Zero were the first ones here really. Mom was quietly sitting, shifting through some papers, his eyes re-reading them intently. After the whistle was blown about half an hour ago, all of us were in tents and Mom told us we were having a 'Welcoming Session', which really was probably him having an excuse to annoy me. Or try to gain information from me. So here I was, whispering to Caveman about Moms concentrated face. I heard Zero whisper to us that Moms face looked as if he's constipated, which me and Caveman laughed our heads off at for a while.

After all the laughing, the files and papers that Mom was holding started to look too familiar, way too familiar for my liking. I closed my eyes for a little bit as I imagined back to when the judge looked down at my...my papers! The exact paper that Mom was holding was the exact ones that the old judge was holding! How'd Mom get them?! That information is supposed to be private and confidential. Mom or in fact anyone in this camp shouldn't be able to access those. That's Illegal!

As I snapped out of thoughts by Stanley nudging me, I watched as the others started to walk into the room, laughing about something.
I crossed my arms as my irritation grew as I saw Mom peek a smile at the papers he held, reading them. Like he has for the past seven minutes.

To my surprise, out of all seats, Zigzag sat next to...me? I sat up straight as I watched him slouch backwards, his arms dangling off the table. When did he get so?...I don't know, hot? Even though he has water stains around the neck part of his shirt. They must have all went to take a shower as Zigzags hair looks wet too. It made him look a bit cute.
As everyone sat down in their places, me in the middle of Stanley and Zigzag, who were both sitting in the same position, Mom spoke up, "Welcome everyone. Today's session will be a welcoming session for Selene, who you have not made a silly nickname for yet!"

I rolled my eyes at his comment, as long as they don't call me 'blush' then it's all good. It couldn't get any worse than that? Right?

"Alright everybody, today our session is going to start by everyone telling Selene a fact about you. Let's go clockwise!" Mom pointed with his right hand to Armpit.

Armpit pondered for a bit before answering, "I got my nickname 'cause a scorpion bit me and it hurt real bad in my armpit." Everyone started laughing at Armpit's choice of 'fact'.
Next was Magnet, "The puppy I was going to liberate was for $1000."
"What?!" I voiced my disappointment at the price. Sure my family was well off but $1000 for a simple puppy? No. Way.

"I know." Magnet sighed out loud making some of them chuckle.
After Mag was Squid who was already looking at me beforehand. I tensed up slightly at the sight of his chocolate eyed gaze.

He smiled before thinking, "I'm an only child." He shrugged.
I nodded at his statement before thinking to myself, 'I guessed it.'

Next was Zero, who looked at me for a split second with his lips pressed together. I could tell he didn't want to say anything, like normal. Strangely, he only likes to talk to me whenever Cavemans around but I'll take it. I've seen the way Zero deathstars some of the campers, glad it's not me. To be honest, I think he's a bit fond of me but I can clearly tell he's most fond of Caveman. The reason? I have no clue.

Zero stayed silent. Mom ushered him to speak, "Well, come on Zero."
X-Ray eventually spoke up, "He only talks to Caveman. Sometimes Selene."

Moms normal plastic smile turned upside down into the first frown ive ever seen him pull. "That's not too fair is it. D'you think you're better than the rest of us?" Mom spoke with a tint of rudeness. Why was he so rude to Zero?
