A/n- Okay, so if you haven't seen or read Heartstopper by Alice Oseman, you might wanna skip this one. For those who have though, Y'all remember that scene at the very end of episode one, season one where Ben SA's Charlie and Nick saves him? This is HEVEALY based on that. So trigger warning. (Ben- Charles Lee, Charlie- John Laurens, Nick- Alexander Hamilton)

John couldn't believe it. Charles Lee, his 'boyfriend', had cheated on him. Sure he wasn't out yet, but really? He could have at least told John. What John couldn't believe more though, was that he finally had the nerve to end things.

He was done meeting up. He was done not having a real boyfriend. He was done being treated like shit. John took a deep breath as he left the school's art room. There, he bumped into Alexander Hamilton. Alexander was the boy he sat next to in homeroom, and the boy he had a major crush on.

"John hey!" He said excitedly. Alexander was swimming in golden retriever energy and John's black cat personality loved it. "What are you still doing here?" He asked.

"Oh, uh, I was working on a um.." John thought for a moment. Alexander was very sporty and he was very straight. Would he make fun of John for being an artsy kid? He decided to take a chance. "A watercolor piece for my art class." He smiled. Alexander nodded.

"That's so cool! I wish I could draw. I once tried to draw a landscape and it looked like literal shit." He laughed. John smiled wider.

"It can be hard. Anyway, how was f-" He was about to ask how football practice was when he got a notification. "One sec." He laughed, pulling out his phone. His smile vanished quickly when he saw who it was from.

Charles Lee: Meet me in the music room
Charles Lee: Please John, I just wanna talk.

You: Fine.

John sighed as he sent the text. He looked back at Alexander. "I have to go, sorry." He said, his voice kind of numb. Alexander looked at him with concern.

"Are you okay?" He asked. John nodded.

"Fine. I just have to talk to someone. Not a big deal. Bye Alexander." He laughed slightly. Except it was a big deal. He knew he could trust Charles Lee and he was going to meet him all alone? Alexander could tell something was off too. But he nodded and let John pass. If there was one thing Alex had learned about John it was that he didn't like talking about his problems. Was that going to stop him from following John to make sure he was okay? Absolutely not.

John walked to the music room, anxiety in his chest. But he couldn't stop thinking about Alexander. Sweet and caring. Those were his two main traits. And that was what John wanted in a boyfriend. Or maybe he just wanted Alexander. But Alexander was straight, right? John thought about it. Alexander had only ever been speculated to have crushes on the girls in their school, specifically the Schuyler sisters. Specifically Eliza. John thought about all the times he had seen them together.

Alex always looked so happy.

And yet, John couldn't shake off this straight boy crush. John could feel tears in his eyes, but he whipped them away quickly. "What's the fucking point?" He mumbled to himself.

*****************************

When John arrived in the music room, he saw Charles Lee standing there, a stupid smug grin on his face. "You're wearing a jacket? It's not even that cold." He retorted.

"It's February and we live in New York so..." He said, his tone hostile.

"What's you're problem? Your always so happy when we meet up." He laughed, stepping closer and touching John's face, but John swatted his hand away.
