Everyone meets someone on the daily, or at least sees someone on the daily, whether its in person or across a screen, but sometimes we don't realize just how big of an impact that person will, or can leave on our lives. We don't think about it unless it happens or already has happened.
Many people are too wrapped up in the desires of the world to notice fate trying to bring them out into the arms of their savior and lover.
Diluc however, gave up on trying to see the strings of fate control his life and bring him to safety, if fate was so pure and great, why did it allow his father's death? He's far too naive to realize fate brought that death upon him so it could teach him a lesson, a lesson that his father was merely there to teach him lessons, and the lesson of grief and death.
Diluc found himself staring down at a male with fair skin, aqua green eyes and black hair that faded into aqua blue at the ends of his two braids, such a.. odd hairstyle, but who is he to judge?
He held the paper ball in his hand and examined the males looks, he possessed a playful smile on his lips. it was silent between the two until the male spoke up.
"I do apologize, i didn't mean to hit that side of your head, i meant for it to hit your back" the male playfully said, folding his hands behind his back and tilting his head with a wide smile.
Diluc sighed, this male reminded him a little too much of Kaeya, maybe just a more.. tolerable version. "Well. Regardless of where you meant to hit, You have horrible aim." Diluc noted in a stoic tone, raising his hand and tossing the paper ball to the male.
The male looked up at him and pulled his left hand from his back, catching the paper ball in his hand and frowning small. More of a pout than anything, "So mean.." but his tone held teasing undertones Diluc certainly didn't miss.
"But i can learn to forgive~ I'm venti, and your name couldn't possibly be chili head, so what is it?" The male who's name turned out to be 'Venti' asked, his pout leaving his lips just as quick as it turned up.
The only reading of this male Diluc got was that he was truly insufferable. But hopefully not as bad as he first assumed.
"Hn." was all Diluc said in return, he remained quiet for multiple minutes as he turned around and walked back to his seat and sat down. he had work to finish and it was becoming rather irritating with how this Venti was acting, but.. Oh well.
After several seconds, he finally spoke up again and glanced at Venti who now had his arms crossed and seemingly awaiting his response. "Diluc." he said in a calm tone with a deadpan expression, turning to look at Venti before looking back to his papers.
"Diluc?" venti repeated. Playfully smiling and walking up to the desk that was in front of Diluc's. And sitting on the chair that belonged to him, sitting in a way so that he would be facing Diluc. "Yes, Diluc." Diluc confirmed. Not bothering to try and sound friendly.
Don't get me wrong! Diluc isn't this cold and rude man, he's just very easily annoyed and irritated due to dealing with Kaeya for years of his life.
"huh.. Not what i was expecting." Venti noted and peaked at his papers. "Well, what were you expecting?" Diluc asked, finally pulling his eyes away from his paper and to Venti who was looking at him.
"Oh nothing~" Venti said, putting his arms on the chair and planting his chin on his arms. "I just expected something related to strawberries or something" He teasingly said with a happy smile.
"huh?" Diluc's face went blank for a solid moment. "Why strawberries?" He asked, his eyebrows raising in the process. "Because of your red hair!" Venti stated, his teasing tone remaining firmly in his voice.
Diluc held in a eyeroll and instead let out a sigh of confusion mixed with annoyance. venti seemingly enjoying how annoyed he was starting to sound. "Out of all the things you could've compared my hair to.."
Diluc started and pinched the bridge of his nose. "You chose, strawberries?" Diluc asked, his face full of annoyance, which was evident.
"What~ I sense i did nothing wrong, i could've said much worse! like tomatoes, cherries~" Venti said playfully, starting to list off the red vegetables or fruits that he knew, only to come short after two, when he realized he wasn't sure what else was red that was edible.
It was like he knew what they were but couldn't remember their names.
His face went completely blank, as the moments passed of him trying to recall their names, Diluc chuckled quietly. Snapping his head over there, Venti crossed his arms. "Hey!" He huffed quietly.
"I would say i'm sorry for laughing, but in all honesty. I don't believe i am." Diluc chuckled again. looking over to Venti.
"Not my fault! I just couldn't remember the names!" Venti pouted, putting his cheek against his arm. "That is technically your fault" Diluc stated, fighting the urge to hold back a grin. huh.. he hadn't remembered the last time he had to hold back a grin or smile, or the last time he smiled on his own.
"Hmph! Whatever." Venti pouted. Looking to the side in a dramatic sad state. Maybe just maybe, he could make this stoic Diluc feel guilty.
He put his hands against his own chest and looked down, adding a small little sniffle. but he found himself not making him guilty, even after god knows how long. "Heyyyy.." Venti looked up and over to him. "Why aren't you feeling guilty yet!" Venti grinned.
"Hm?" It turns out Diluc had just, gone back to homework. so he looked back from his paper over to him. "You should be feeling guilty!" Venti stated. "Oh, Well i guess it's a shame that i don't." Diluc stated, his tone sounding more amused than he desired.
Venti playfully rolled his eyes but then something along the lines of realization struck him. "Hey Diluc? What time is it?" He asked curiously. putting his chin back on his chair.
"Around four." Diluc stated, giving him a single glance. "why?" He added last minute. "Oh nothing, i should just get going you know~" Venti stood up and smiled. walking away from this chair and to his previous chair, picking up his bag.
"Hm. Detention isn't over yet, Venti." Diluc stated, looking over his shoulder and staring at him. "So what! What teacher is dead asleep, so i can leave twenty minutes early" Venti stated.
Wait, only twenty minutes of detention left? Did it really go by that quickly? Why though?
"What? That's not how it works." Diluc stated in a deadpan tone. "Well.. it works for me~" Venti playfully said as he began walking to the door, his footsteps quiet, but still there.
"Wait-" Diluc reached out and grabbed his hand, it seemed he over calculated his grab as he meant to grab his wrist. "Seriously? Just wait twenty minutes more." Diluc sternly stated.
Venti playfully grinned, his Aqua green eyes filled with pure amusement. "Should i? I feel like you just want me to stay for a little longer~" Venti teased. holding onto his bag and seemingly taking a glance of amusement down at their hands. "Maybe.. you just like me~" he added mischievously
"In your dreams, but i don't plan on facing the consequences for your actions." Diluc stated. but for some reason, he couldn't bring his hand away yet, he didn't understand it. "Oh well~ i guess i can longer~ Your fun to mess with anyway" Venti smiled and sat down beside him, putting his bag against the desk.
"Why are you sitting next to me?" Diluc questioned, looking down at his papers again, almost finished with his assignments. "Well Mr. grumpy. You have my hand hostage. oh my poor hand~" he pouted. "so in all realness. i'm sitting next to you now!" Venti smiled at him.
"Oh-" Diluc's face when blank and he sighed, letting go of his hand
It seems this venti was annoying, but not as annoying as Kaeya or someone else, but for some reason he couldn't place this day, he found himself letting out chuckles. holding back grins.
He hadn't felt that way since he was a mere child. What could have this male done to make him feel this way? That he didn't have the answer to,
maybe one day he would. the day he would realize Venti would be so much more to him than a annoying acquaintance
