Love, Love is such a odd anomaly that most deal with in their life. And for some, as much as they try to deny their feelings, they can only hide the obvious for so long until their desires overload and they cannot deny the growing feeling between them and their love.
Of course though, people like Diluc believe romance would never happen for them due to their life not being so easy. Or for past trauma.
They truly do believe fate wouldn't bother wasting an ounce of time on people like them, people who have suffered from something in their past.
But of course that is just silly lies told for people who wish to not get involved with something that could harm them in the end if they're not careful.
But, at this point, anything can harm you emotionally or physically if you aren't truly careful and trusting.  But you have to trust in fate, trust that not everything is out to harm you and fail you.
People like Diluc didn't want to believe they could still truly be loved or cherished. Diluc surely didn't want to believe someone of Venti's likes could ever even stare his way with eyes filled with love.
He simply couldn't imagine something like that happening. He truly couldn't.
As he walked down the campus's never-ending halls, he hadn't planned on being this.. worried. Worried over messing something like a friendship or possibly a romantic relationship up.
He normally wouldn't care about how he acted. he truly never cared nor did he ever bother to care since he was used to being around people like Kaeya. But.. for the last two or so weeks, he has been catching himself caring more and more. feeling like he should be nicer to venti in fear he would leave.
Such a shameful feeling. He shouldn't feel this way, yet when it came to Venti he almost couldn't stop himself. It was as if his feelings were finally taking over that cold heart that was once his.
And as he walked surely soon after of pure silence, a small figure found itself walking by his side, he didn't need to take a glance at this point to know who it was. It was venti without a doubt.
And the voice that soon rang in the air only served as reassurance; "Hey Diluc~ There you are! Have you been avoiding me all morning? Hm...! How rude of you~ I'm so hurt..." a voice whined, a voice that was a little bit too familiar to Diluc's ears by now.
And surely as soon as Diluc turned around the voice was exactly who everyone assumed, Venti. whining and pouting as always whilst he walked over to Diluc from down the hall. "Hmph! So rude~" he playfully pouted and crossed his slender arms across his chest.
Normally, Diluc would just fire something back to him, but this morning was different, Diluc looked down to him and looked back away silently. Every time those eyes fell across Venti.. His mind only reminded him of his growing feelings in his cold heart.
Every time, he was only reminded of the fact someone deemed to be his friend was the man Diluc was starting to dream of, someone Diluc was starting to adore in his own special ways.
Venti's pout slowly melted off his face and he raised one eyebrow in curiosity from the sudden silence that Diluc was possessing this morning, what happened? "Hm? What happened to you, grump?" Venti asked and looked up at his face curiously.
Diluc didn't plan on answering him, but when his eyes fell upon that oddly adorable yet annoying face waiting for him to answer his question, he couldn't hold back. He looked down at his face, his cold eyes staring directly at those beautifully glimmering green eyes. The two's eyes locked onto each other. Both clearly desiring to reach out, but not daring to as he simply said with a stoic tone; "Nothing."
Which you can guess how that ended for Diluc. "Nothing? Lies~ But whatever! If you won't say it, i won't push it, Anyway~ i was thinking! How about to loosen those nerves up, we go drinking tonight after classes?" Venti suggested with a sly smile.
Diluc wasn't exactly amused with the idea of drinking, especially with Venti. "Drinking? What? we have classes tomorrow plus i hate-" But just as he was about to shut down his idea, venti predicted that and cut him off.
"Okay! It's settled! i'll see you after classes tonight, and we'll head down to the town's bar! Perfect! See you then grump!!" Venti excitedly exclaimed as turned around and beginning to walk away with his plans set in motion. Glancing over his shoulder and Smiling playfully at him before looking back ahead
Diluc sighed and grumbled as he stared at the small figure slowly disappearing into the shadows of the halls with the oncoming students walking around, he wanted to be annoyed at Venti, but the rising butterflies in his stomach meant he surely wasn't opposing to the fact of being with Venti for an extended period of time.
But what was peeving him was the idea of drinking on a school night, Diluc was never a fan of alcohol, he wasn't against it or anything. He honestly couldn't care if someone drank or not. it wasn't his business to deal with.
But that didn't mean he himself enjoyed drinking, he hated the taste of alcohol and always has. He knew for a fact he wouldn't touch nor drink any alcohol tonight in the near future, but then some may question why he would even go if he wouldn't enjoy the taste, but to put it into simple words.
He doesn't plan on standing Venti up, nor leaving him alone to drink. He just hoped Venti wasn't as lightweight as he presumes him to be, otherwise tonight would surely give him a headache.
