   On the walk to school everything was normal. And what I mean by normal is the busses arriving on time, The same blue car that drives by every day at the say time, and the principal standing outside the office door greeting people.
    I walked up to the school about 10 minutes till the bell rang and the principal rolled his eyes.
    "Good morning Mr. Calmera" he said trying to act all happy.
    I didn't respond but I smiled back at him.
"May I have a word with you?" He asked
     I nodded.
   "Well it has come to my attention that you have been missing to many school days and you skip half of your classes. I would like to talk to your mom. So either you can tell her to meet me tonight or I can call her" he said
    "You do it" I said bluntly. "She's already mad at me as it is"
    He seemed surprised. Like he wasn't expecting me to tell him to do it. Like he wanted me to. Did he not want to talk to her.
    "Your father must come to" he said after a minute
    "I'll tell him" I said "he doesn't speak English"
"Alright" he said "now go to class"
    I rolled my eyes and headed inside the school.
I walked through a door that led outside to the courtyard.
    "Lenny!!!" A voice yelled from the other side of the courtyard.
     I froze in my spot. It was Merida. My best friend from kindergarten. She has long curly red hair and really pale white skin. With emerald green eyes.
     She came running up to me.
"Lenny" she screamed "there's a new kid"
    She jumped on my back which made me fall over.
   "Meri what are you talking about?" I asked taking my backpack off and standing up. I brushed dirt off of my clothes and stuck my hand out to help her up.
    As she took my hand she said "there's a new kid. Supposedly he's super handsome. Blond hair and blue eyes. His name is Julian I think."
    She let go of my hand and started jumping around. "He seems perfect. Maybe I should ask his out."
    I rolled my eyes and smiled.
      As you can tell me and Merida are quite the opposite. She obsessed with love. She wants to be dating right now. She'd even be married if she could. But she's my only friend. And I don't need anyone else.
     "Meri come on we're gonna be late" I said picking my backpack up and throwing it over my shoulder.
     As soon as I was about to walk off I heard a voice yell "Lennox!!!"
    I turned around to see my little sister Hartley.
"What?" I yelled back.
     She didn't respond but instead walked closer to me. As soon as she was only steps away Hartley said "mom got a phone call"
    Shit. Already?
  "Damn that was fast" I said
      "So you know?" She asked
"If it was the principal then yes I know already" I said
   She nodded. "Oh and your dads coming over for dinner this afternoon"
    "Great" I whispered under my breath.

    "Come on Lenny!" Meri said "we got to get to class. Let's see if the new kids in our class"
     She really excited for him. Why though? He'll probably become friends with the popular kids like all the new kids do.
    She grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the classroom.
     We walked through a door that led inside and the down a hallway. A few seconds later Meri took a quick turn into the classroom.
    I almost hit the doorframe but luckily I missed it by a few centimeters.
    As soon as we walked in the room I noticed a bunch of people crowded around a certain desk.
    "Put your stuff down" Meri said
I sat my stuff down by my desk and I tried to sit down in my seat but Meri didn't let me. She grabbed my wrist and pulled me into the crowd.
    I was squished. There was to many people and Merida wasn't helping. She was pushing through to the front. Then all of a sudden she stopped and I slammed into her.
    "Oh my god Meri I'm so sorry I didn't mean to" I said and covered my face in embarrassment
    "Lenny, it's ok I'm the one who stopped. It's not your fault." She reassured
    I smiled. This is why she's my best friend.
"Hi my name is Merida but you can call me Meri. And this is my friend Lenny" she said and pulled me beside her.
   I gave a small tiny wave and smile.
"Nice to meet you" the voice was deep but soft. It sounded trouble though.
    I looked around until my eyes laid upon the guy Meri was talking to. He had dirty blond hair with emerald green eyes and Meri isn't wrong when she says he's Handsome. What am I thinking? I need to stop.
     "My name is Julian" he said. His voice had an accent to it. It sounded majestical. As if you'd never want to stop listening to it.
    "Where are you from Julian?" Meri asked
"Here." He said "I've been homeschooled my entire life so that's why you've probably never seen me."
    "Sweet" Meri replied
  A few other people asked him questions and he answered. But the only question that actually mattered to me was the next one Meri asked.
   "Hey Julian do you want to sit with us at lunch?"  Meri suggested
    "Is that ok?" He asked her back
"Of course" she replied and walked away. I followed her.
    What the hell is she thinking.

   This year was supposed to be just us two. Not anyone else. I don't want anyone else. Just us two like it's always been.
