Dating kai would come with its surprises and skylor knew that full well, what she didn't know, however, was just how much he was actually hiding from her and how aghast she was that she hadn't found out about it until so late into their relationship.

After another successful mission in saving ninjago city, again might I add, a very spent and exhausted group of ninja, plus their trusted partners battle, had dragged themselves back to the  monastery pleasantly surprised to have come out of the fight fairly unscathed. Jay had taken it upon himself to practically sink into the monastery couch, refusing to move for anything or anyone and Cole was definitely no better. Lloyd had basically hit the floor the minute they got back and was far from his usual energetic self, Cole eventually had to pick him up from the floor and take him to his room before Nya accidentally tripped over him. Zane and pixal were in shutdown mode, not that they needed to sleep but they were far from willing to engage in any type of conversation right now. As for kai and skylor, they felt like they were about to drop dead any minute.

"Ugh, I'm never complaining about the noodle house ever again, I'm 20 and I already feel like I've got arthritis" came the groan of skylor's voice as she stretched her arms above her head trying to untie the knot in her shoulders. "Tell me about it, all the years doing this shit, I might as well have aged like 50 years" Kai complained as his head fell heavy on his bed, skylor falling back next to him with an exasperated thud. The two of them lay there for a solid 20 minutes not saying anything, far too stiff to move before kai could finally bring himself to try and get up from the bed, he needed a shower but instead of rising to his feet, he sunk to the floor.

"Im weak, feable, brittle boned" He very dramatically wallowed from the floor.

"get a grip drama queen"

"skylor, your just gonna have to leave me here, to waste away on the floor"

Skylor rolled her eyes hoisted him from the floor to his feet "why the hell do i bother putting up with you?" To that kai turned to her with a smile, more accurately a smug grin, and batted his eyelashes at her

"because you looove me?" skylors face remained stoic "go have a shower you weirdo" she smirked and threw a pillow at him. "Okay okay, Im going" He laughed as he left the room, trying to avoid the flying projectile pillows that she hauled at him. Once he left, skylor had found herself just endlessly smiling "Dork face.." she mumbled with a smile and went on her phone for the time being.

It was no secret that kai took exceptionally long in the shower, like reeaally long, it had been 40 minutes and by that point skylor had gotten bored of waiting, she went to the bathroom door and began to knock on it with enough force for kai to actually acknowledge it without trying to ignore it, which she knew he often did

"Babe for the love of the first spinjitzu master, are you done yet?" Skylor asked with impatience. "I'm drying my hair, looking this good is a lengthy process you know?" He chided from behind the other side of the door. skylor rolled her eyes at his reasoning and called back to him "right im coming in" she stated before opening the door and stepping in to the bathroom, which was still slightly fogged up from his shower.

Kai was stood in front of the mirror, hairdryer in hand as he dried the last few parts of his hair, which was mostly blown to the side and he dried underneath it. Skylor stood there watching him, something felt off but she couldn't place her finger on what exactly it was that was bugging her, and finally that's when it clicked in her mind, as kai turned the hairdryer off and set it down on the sink/dressing table in front if the mirror, he finally shook his head to even out his hair that was still swooped off to the right side  Kais hair had now set itself more evenly now that it was dry and it was then that it dawned on skylor, this was the first time that she had ever actually seen him without his usual gelled spikes done up in his hair, instead his hair lay on his head still a bit messy but in a strangely alluring way, it was, or atleast it looked, really soft and fluffy without the gel making it stand up in every which direction.

Taking a closer look she also noticed how his hair was actually long enough to reach to just above his shoulders. Skylor stood there absolutely speechless, it was new side of kai and one that she would be lying if she said she didn't like. He jaw was to the floor and she most likely looked like a 9 year old kid gawking at candy (*cough cough* Lloyd) but she couldn't care less right now, it was hard for her to believe just how different he looked without the gel, just wearing his hair naturally.

Skylor had taken too much of this rare sighting in and she was struggling to ever imagine him with any other hairstyle, however she was promptly snapped out of her internal train of thought when she noticed kais hand opening the cupboard on the wall beside him and reaching for the tub of hair gel that sat on the lower shelf. Without so much as a second thought or even slight hesitation, she dashed to his side, swiping the hair gel from his hand and tossing it out the bathroom door, before slamming it shut with an aggressive bang. Kai stood there looking at his empty hand, frog blinking for a few seconds before he slowly turned his head to look at the very unapologetic expression that was printed on her face. Kai stood there confused confused, thats what kai was, confused

"Right, because I feel this needs to be asked, what was that for?" He inquired, hoping to hear whatever bizarre reasoning she had behind that. Skylor just looked at him before firmly stating

"put. It. Down, and dont pick it up again"

"Right remind me again, why?"

"Because there is no way in living hell I'm ever letting you touch that gel again, I cannot believe you hid this from me"

"Hid what?" Kai desperately asked, growing more confused by the second

"Your hair, how on earth didn't I know thats how it looks without the spikes, it looks like that and you choose to gel it, are you nuts!?" skylor asked him, utterly bewildered by the fact that he would want to wear his hair any other way than the way she was seeing it now, she knew he made dumb choices but this one genuinely surprised her, especially since he was always so nitpicky and particular about his hair, the 3 hours he spent on it in the morning told you plenty enough. "Im so not letting you even HOLD another tub of gel"

Kai still looked lost for a few seconds before he finally decided to use his big boy brain to actually think, and once he did, the biggest smirk plastered itself onto his face.

"So thats what this is about, just admit it sky, you know I'm far too fetching to resist, my charm is unmatched" kai said through the teeth of his smug grin

"I think I just saw your head get a little bigger" she shot back at him with a smirk "Well you stuck with me, didn't you?" he pointed out, grin still present on his face. Skylor just looked at him, Stone faced and serious, not even bothering to dignify it with a response, especially since she knew he was right, she hated when he was right not that it happened often, but when it did it was so annoying.

Skylors gaze just remained on kai, the only words she uttered to him were "If I find another tub of hair gel within a 100 mile radius of you or this place then I will personally feed it to you for breakfast, are we clear?" and as if by magic, kais smug face was instantly whiped clean, that was a serious threat and one she meant, but there was no changing the fact that skylor was a very clear sucker for natural haired kai and that she would definitely drop dead before kai would ever let her live this down or forget it, because he knew for a fact that he wouldn't especially not anytime soon. "Soooo...you think the hair is hot?" he smirked before she threw a hairbrush at him

"Dont push your luck firecracker"

"Okay okay, point taken" kai said, raising his hands up in defence m. With that skylors face broke out into a small smile, she rolled her eyes playfully and kissed his cheek "cmon hothead, you and I have a date with about 50 hours of sleep to catch up on" she said as the pair of them managed to drag themselves back to the room, barely making it to the bed before they passed out exhausted, though ofcourse it wasn't before skylor atleast touched and played with kais hair, definitely something she could get used to and something she would make happen even is she had to literally destroy every source of hair gel that kai managed to get his hands on
