Confrontation

One week had passed, and it was Saturday when Tita Alisa asked me how school was. I recounted to her what had happened with the rumors and the conversation with Kate.

Pero I assured her that it didn't bother me much.

"Does someone bothers you because of the rumors?" Kuya Aiden suddenly asked as he just arrived in the kitchen. I was taken aback, momentarily speechless.

When he caught my gaze, I quickly responded, "W...Wala naman po.....A...aside from their staring and whispers wala naman po silang ibang ginagawa."

"Just let us know if they do anything to you, we'll take care of it," Archie added, who was following behind Kuya Aiden.

"Thank you, pero siguro naman wala silang gagawin dahil alam naman nila yung situation kung bakit ako nakatira sa inyo," I answered, still following my gaze as Kuya Aiden left.

Feeling a sense of reassurance from the protective stance of the Miller brothers, I returned to Tita Alisa's side, grateful for their support.

Monday arrived, and I found myself waiting in the classroom for Kate.

Blair, one of the bullies who seemed to be obsessed with Kuya Aiden, approached me. Kate already warns me about them. I braced myself for whatever confrontation might occur.

Blair walk over to where I am, a smirk playing on her lips. "Well, well, well, if it isn't Brea," she said mockingly, her tone dripping with arrogance. "Word on the street is you're cozying up to the Miller brothers house. What's your game, huh?"

I look at her directly, refusing to let her insults get to me. "I don't have any game, Blair. The Millers are my friends, that's all."

Blair's smirk widened, and she took a step closer, invading my personal space. "Friends, huh? More like trying to worm your way into their family, I bet. You're just a charity case, Brea, don't get it twisted."

My pulse quickened, but I held my ground, refusing to let Blair intimidate me. "You don't know anything about me or my relationship with the Millers. So why don't you just back off and leave me alone?"

Blair's laughter echoed through the classroom, drawing the attention of nearby students. "Oh, look at little Brea, trying to act tough. You're nothing, just a nobody clinging to the world of the Miller brothers."

Before I could respond, Kate entered the classroom, her expression immediately registering concern as she caught sight of the confrontation. "Is everything okay here?" she asked, stepping forward to stand beside me.

Blair shot me a smug look before turning his attention to Kate. "Everything's just akright, Kate. Just having a little chat with our new friend here."

Kate's eyes narrowed, her protective instincts kicking in. "Leave her alone, Blair. We all know what you're up to, and it's not going to work."

Blair's smirk faltered slightly at Kate's words, but she quickly regained her composure. "Whatever you say, Kate. We were just leaving anyway."

With one last sneer in my direction, Blair stroll out of the classroom, leaving me feeling both relieved and shaken by the encounter.

As Kate turned to me with a supportive smile, I couldn't help but feel grateful for her. Despite the challenges I wiil face, I knew I wasn't alone in this.
