After hours of dancing, talking, laughing and of course, eating. we all decided to go to bed. As I lay on my bed, the thought of not seeing the Pevensies was running through my mind. Since I couldn't sleep, I decided to go for a stroll around the castle. As soon as I stepped out of my room, I heard other doors  closing and saw the Pevensies outside their rooms.

Peter: It seems like you guys can't sleep as well.

Lucy: Yup.

We all walked to the middle of the corridors in a circle.

Me: How about we go to the balcony so we can talk there?

Susan: That's a good idea.

We all headed to the balcony and sat there.

Lucy: It's been awhile since we did this.

Susan: I remember those nights that we would sneak to the roof of the school.

Edmund: Yeah, and you three would purposely leave Emily and I alone all the time, pretending to leave something in your rooms.

Peter: Well, in the end, the result was good. Look at you two. I have never seen you two that comfortable with each other.

That was when I realized that I was resting my head on his shoulder. this made me blush. Good thing it was dark enough for them not to see it.

Susan: By the way, you never told us exactly why you went to America.

Me: Oh...

Edmund took my hand and I looked at him with a smile. He leaned in to whisper something to me.

Edmund: Don't worry I'm here.

Me: Well, my parents asked me to go there to tell me that I was adopted and that they did not want to take care of me anymore. So that whole year in America was spent to look for new people to adopt me. In the end, I was able to convince them to let me go back to England and live with my old nanny.

Lucy: We're very sorry, Emily. Why would they do that to you?

Peter: Whatever their reason is, they made a terrible mistake. Don't worry Emily, we'll always be here for you.

Me: Thank you to all of you. Those words meant so much to me. You guys are the best.

Lucy: Okay, change of topic.

Peter: I know. Would you care to explain, Emily, how you were able to sent those flying during the battle?

Lucy: What things?

Peter: She was able to send people flying to the air, stop the boulders from hitting us and create a wall of fire.

Lucy: Really? How did you do that?

Me: It's a bit of a long story.

Lucy: C'mon, we have the whole night.

Me: Alright.

So I started explaining by first telling them the story about my real parents and ending it with how I got my title during the coronation.

Me: That is why I was named the new Queen of the Dryads.

Susan: That makes you a-

Me: A Narnian. Yes.

Edmund: You truly are extraordinary.

We stayed there for a long time just talking and recalling memories. Too bad that I'll be staying here and they're going back to their home.

Lucy: I'm already sleepy.

Susan: Me too.

Peter: Then I guess it's time for us to go to bed.

One by one they left but Edmund and I decided to stay behind. I turned to face the town then Edmund hugged me from behind wrapping his arms around my waist and resting his chin on my head while I rested my head on his chest.

Edmund: Do you remember the promise I made to you when we told each other our feelings?

Me: Mhm.

Edmund: Well, I want to fulfill that promise tonight.

I felt my heart sink when he said this. I don't want our relationship to start with us being separated again. I turned around to face him.

Me: I'm sorry but I don't think it's the right time.

Edmund: What? Why?

Me: It's just not the right time.

Edmund: Why do you keep on saying that?! I understand the first time but why this time?!

Me: I can't tell you.

Edmund: Why can't you tell me?!

Me: I just can't.

At this point, I was already crying very hard.

Edmund: You know what, forget it.

He started walking away but I stopped him by wrapping my arms around him from the back.

Me: Please, please don't say that. Please don't leave me. Ed, please.

He gently removed my arms around him and continued walking away without even looking back. I collapsed to the ground and cried harder.

What have I done?
