C H A P T E R 1 :"Is everything alright?"
"Perfectly fine," Mae replied as she finished typing her essay on her laptop. She turned to face her teacher that seemed more female than male. His pink hair travelled in rivulets down his shoulders and up to his back, his bright blue eyes boring into hers.
He frowned at her. "Mae-chan, even though you've always been like this it's making it harder on me."
"I don't get what you're talking about Tsukimiya-sensei," Mae said, closing her laptop and facing her teacher without having to spin around. Her expression was poker-faced as she went on, "Am I doing something wrong?"
Tsukimiya Ringo flinched. "It's not that you're doing something wrong... But you're not doing anything right either!" he stated in defense.
Mae busied herself with something else with a sigh.
"I've been giving you home classes due to the request from the school principal, but you're not acting like you're thankful at all!"
"I am thankful," Mae defended. "And it's my mornings and weekends you're taking out of your schedule to do so too."
Ringo gazed at the auburn haired female with a distressed emotion. Her lack of expressions and reactions just made things harder.
Exhaling a breath, Ringo placed his hands on his hips. "Mae-chan... why don't you come to school?"
Mae's reaction was hard to see through. She continued the act of gathering her things before rising up to her feet. Looking up into the eyes of her homeroom teacher, she didn't even batt an eyelash.
"Is this all for my lesson today?"
Ringo gazed at her sourly. "Mae-chan-"
"If that's the case, I'll excuse myself. Thank you for today." Mae headed towards the doorway of this spacious apartment but before she could step out, Ringo stopped her.
"I don't have the right to say anything, but the academy's a greater place than you think, Mae-chan!" he cried. "There's no need for you to ignore school; especially one with this chance!"
Without a word, Mae closed the door behind her, leaving Ringo in a dismayed state.

The seventeen year old stalked through the bustling roads, her composition book held closely to her.
It's already been a few months since her father had enrolled her at Saotome Academy, using one of her song compositions instead of the entrance exam. After insisting she was no longer planning on going to school, Mae's father did so anyways. Not that he forced her to attend.
He was one of the music teachers in the school due to the fact he was a well-known composer world-wide so convincing the principal to allow one teacher to bring her the lesson's daily until she was up to actually attend, and he agreed.
She hadn't actually met the guy, but apparently the principal, Shining Saotome, was a eccentric man who was always plotting something.
Despite the few months that have past, Mae didn't have the nerve to go to school. She didn't want to any longer, but it was because of her dad that she even had to. He didn't want her to continue this way; which she found a little unnecessary. He hadn't even tried to ask why she ever made the decision, but she figured he knew because of the way he always talked to her. The endless amount of complaints from every teacher she's ever had gave away her "insolent behavior" too.
