C H A P T E R 22 :

☆ Hospital Room ☆ Morning ☆

"Oh wow, what's going on!"

All the nurses and doctors piled into the room beside Akahana Hajime to watch the sight before their eyes, agape. Sleeping in the hospital bed was Akahana Mae, the new patient that was admitted and still wasn't waking, continuously mumbling what seemed like a song under her breath.

mou sabishiku...wa nai... yo
"shinjiru" o uta e

With this warm... melody,
There's... no more... sadness!

"Why..." one nurse murmured in surprise as Mae mumbled the rest.

"Mae..." Hajime whispered, astonished by his daughter's situation.

"Oh my, what a crowd," Ringo said, stepping into the room. He had hurried here first thing in the morning since visiting hours were already over a short while after he arrived the night before. He stepped towards the ruckus all of them were causing, and his jaw fell in great surprise.

"Mae-chan..."

☆ Dormitory ☆

"I'm off!"

Tokiya groggily woke up to the shuffling of feet and turned over to see Otoya grinning from ear to ear.

"Sitting down and worrying really isn't me," Otoya admitted, completely determined, "I'm going to see Akahana!"

The door to the room slammed closed after the redhead dashed out of the room. Tokiya flipped over onto his other side before raising up, running his hands though his hair.

He cracked a tiny smile, glad that his friend was over his depression from yesterday.

"Good luck."

Running into Akahana's hospital room, Otoya was shocked to see the sight waiting for him there. Mae's dad stood in front of Mae's bed, Tsukimiya Ringo beside him.

They looked up in surprise at the entrance of somebody else and weren't surprised to see the redhead standing there.

"So you did come Otoya-kun," Hajime murmured, returning his gaze back to his daughter.

Gulping, Otoya stepped forward. When he arrived by Mae's side and heard the fain mumbling, he blinked rapidly.

"She's keeps mumbling the same sentences over and over again," Ringo explained for him, "It's odd... She isn't showing any signs of being awake but she's..."

What! Otoya took a good listen at what Mae was mumbling, hope bubbling within him. Though, just as he caught bits of it, his ruby hues shrunk back.

"H-huh..."

Hajime and Ringo perked at Otoya's reaction.

"You know what she's saying?" Hajime pressed, and Otoya flinched.
