Timing Is Everything

"I can't believe Mr. Jennings would give you such a big project. And he expects you to do it all on your own that's ridiculous!" Robert ranted on as he climbs out Nathan's car. It was they're lunch break and because Nathan couldn't come up with a good enough excuse they where going to spend it at his house. They walked there way up to his front door he hesitates a moment before unlocking the door "Isn't it obvious why he gave me this project...he wants me to fail so he can fire me. He even went as far as saying Fin could finish my current projects. And of course I took the bate like a dumb ass now I have to do my current case's and the one he gave me today" if his boss wanted to fire him he wished he would just do it and get it over with. As they walked inside Robert bends down to pet Snowball while Nathan looked left and right for the mystery girl. On the note he left her he said he would be back at 4 but know one seemed to be here. He was slightly disappointed she didn't wait for him to come home "Dude what's your extra blanket doing in here? You usually only bring it out when you have someone sleeping over. Like me when I'm to hung over to drive home" he picked up the blue blanket off the couch. Nathan used the blanket last night to sleep in the livingroom in his rush this morning he forgot to fold and put it up. He speed walked into the kitchen to avoid the conversation pulling opening the fridge. Robert hums laying the blanket back down following after him "I got that fancy ham you like you can maybe your special ham sandwich with the jalapeños" Nathan said while pulling out the ingredients. Robert just watched him rubbing his jew before pulling too plates out the cabinet "Your being so weird today Nat...was sex with Ivy that bad?" he laughs opening the bread. Of course Robert first thought would go to sex he was always thinking with his dick. In Nathan's defense of course he was acting weird he hit a girl with his car yesterday that would mess anyone up. This was bigger then sex or some random date his mind wouldn't leave the mystery girl. What if she was out there right now on the streets lost and confused? What if she was a kidnapped victim or something he saw she was covered with blood and scratches even a bullet wound. He closed the door trying to look casual while leaning against his island "I don't know what you mean Rob I'm perfectly...." he's bedroom door suddenly opened reviling the girl he's been trying to keep secret this whole time. Seeing his expression Robert turned around looking at her as well "....normal" he whispered looking at her she was wearing his sweat pants and black shirt and a pair of his slides. Both the pants and shirt looked extremely oversized on her but somehow she made it work "Are those my sunglasses?" she was wearing a pair of dark shades concealing her eyes hair wet with water droplets.

She frozen in place she wasn't expecting to see him and even worse he wasn't alone there was another man here with darker skin like her. She was enjoying being in the shower a little to much soaking in every second. She didn't even bother checking the time she went in with the intention that she would have been able to get out before he came home but now here they are. She licks her lips looking down stomach filling with nerves while speed walking towards the front door "Who is she?" the darker skinned on asked as her hand reached for the door handle. Nathan ran around the island towards her nearly tripping over Snowball in the process "Wait!" her back was towards him hand resting on the handle. Her breath catches in her throat hearing his footsteps approach "Can...can we talk about last night?" he just wanted to make sure she was ok after everything that happened at least that's what he was telling himself. Robert looked between them completely lost "Last night...you mean you didn't meet Ivy yesterday?" he asked but was completely ignored by them she slowly turned her head in Nathan's direction. The longer she stayed the more likely the guards from the lab would find her. Everything in her was screaming to just run out the door but when she looked at him she couldn't say no "Fine" she whispered hand dropping from the handle. Nathan gave her a smile that was so perfect she could barley look away. Nathan turned towards Robert who looks fucking lost "Hmm you can go ahead and get lunch without me...somewhere else" Robert looked at him as if he was crazy. Walking closer he glances over at her as she sits on the couch "Dude you drove us here" Nathan pulls his keys out his suit pocket tossing them over to him. He caught them smoothly in one hand "Go crazy, I'll see you in a few minutes don't worry I'll walk back to work" Robert sigh crossing his arms not understanding this situation at all. His best friend wasn't one for one night stands so who was this strange girl. And why was she wearing sunglasses inside? The whole situation was off in a weird way. Robert walks up to his friend he whispered putting a hand on his shoulder "What the hell is going on and who is she Nat?" Nathan didn't respond just pushing him toward the front door. Opening the door he pushed Robert outside "Bye Robert" closing the door in his face before turning back towards her. Snowball has takin residents on her lap she looked at the cat confused about what to do with it "Ok let's talk" he sat across from her with a friendly smile.
