Pizza

"This is our beautiful home make yourself comfortable. I'll go get us some drinks while we wait" Kimberly said with a smile as she opened the door gesturing for Trixe to walk inside. Hesitantly she walks inside looking around unlike Nathan's the walls where a sky blue with gold framed photos lined the walls of the happy family. Garrett grabs her hand pulling her towards the livingroom as Kimberly walks ahead of them into the kitchen to get them drinks "Mom!...You have to see her eyes there so cool!" he yelled with a big making her cringe inside. She really didn't want Kimberly to look at her any differently she grabs his shoulder stopping him from walking. He looks up at her confused bending over she whispered "Garrett I rather no one know about my eye's ok" he raised a brow confused as to why she would want to hide something so color "Why not? It's so cool I've never seen someone with pink eyes before. Mom will think it's cool to" she shook her head this kid wasn't just going to keep her secret to him. Her eye's scan the room looks for a excuse "No one can know" she whispered about the freak out. The lights in the hallway slightly flicker a moment Garrett looks up at the lights before turning to fully face her "Why not?" her hand falls from his shoulder. Scanning the walls her eyes lands on a drawing Garrett probably draw it was of him as a superhero flying through the sky. Superheros could have colorful eyes right "I'm a superhero if anyone finds out I'll have to leave forever" his month hangs open in shock Trixe stands make up taking a small step back. His mother comes around the cover holding three cans of pepsi looking between them "Why are you guys still just standing here? Come on in the livingroom have a seat" Trixe glanced at him before walking into the livingroom. She hands them both there sodas with a smile His mom turns towards him as he followed behind them "Oh did I hear you call my name earlier?" Trixe looks back a Garrett as she sat on the couch. Kimberly sits beside her as Garrett takes the seat across from them. He looks at her a moment who picks at the lid of her car avoiding eye contact. His eyes turn to his mom "Nah never mind mom" Trixe let's out a sigh of relief as Kimberly nods he grins in her direction. The kid loved to talk but hopefully he would be able to keep her secret safe. She looked down at the can in her hands she didn't know how she was supposed to open in there wasn't a lid of a cap. She looked out the corner of her eye watching Kimberly open her's by pulling up the thing in the middle "Hmm.." she hums while following her lead. She accidentally pulls the whole top off the can splashing some of the soda out Kimberly looks over at her suprised. She laughs awkwardly as Kimberly hands her some napkins on the table "Sorry we don't have umm cans like this where I'm from" she said while wiping the soda off her shirt. Garrett raised a brow looking at her suspiciously "It's ok honey so are you a friend of Nathan's? Family maybe? We've never seen Nathan hang out with anyone but his buddy Robert" Trixe sat the wet napkins on the table thinking over Kimberly question. She didn't want to pull Nathan into this but she had to say something "Umm I'm just his friend...from along time ago. I'll be staying with him a few days" Kimberly smiles sipping her soda Trixe was hopefully this was enough for her to stop questioning her. But apparently not because Kimberly continued to talk "It's great to see Nathan has other friends when and here did you meet? What do you do for a living?" ok wasn't she being alittle to nosey now Trixe thought drinking her fuzzy soda. Cringing at the sickingly sweet flavor before sitting it on the table Garrett looks between them before speaking up "Mom aren't you asking to many questions? Didn't you say it was rude to ask strangers to many questions?" Kimberly looks over at him surprised. Trixe tried to hide the smile on her lips thsnkful for the little boy "Garrett" she said in a mothering tone as if to warn him. The front door opens in steps a bearded man his hair was red and curly he had pale skin peppered with freckles holding a bug box that smelled delicious. Garrett smile running over to him "Dad!" he hugs the man's leg the man smiled down at him before noticing his wife and Trixe "Hello everyone Kim who's are guest?" Garrett pulls away so the man can come farther into the room. He sits the box on the table sitting on the couch across from them beside Garrett "This is Trixe she's a friend of Nathan's next door she's staying with next day a few days. Garrett was bothering her outside so I invited her over for pizza as a apology" he laughs while opening the box. It was the most delicious looking thing Trixe ever seen her mouth watered just looking at the pizza "Well welcome I'm Ryan nice to meet you. Eat as much as you want you can even take some back for Nathan if you want" she smiles watching as everyone begans picking up slices of pizza. Be followed there leading picking up on of the oily triangles taking a small bit eyes widening "Waaaah!" Kimberly laughs at her reaction along with Garrett. Ryan smiles widely "Is it good?" she looks at him deadly serious "It's the best thing...I've ever had" she takes another big bite moaning she had no idea food could taste this good.

"Hello! Trixe are you here I'm home" Nathan said while opening his front door walking inside. Snowball greets him first rubbing against his let. But he was to busy look left and right for Trixe but she was know where to be seen. He sits his briefcase on the livingroom table making his way into the kitchen continuing to look for her. Again he was met with a empty room "Did she already leave..." he whispers hoping it's not true. She was in no condition to leave yet she was all scratching up and hurt even before he hit her with jeep. He didn't expect her to come out and tell him what happened and honestly it was none of his business. He looks down watching Snowball moew at him "Why didn't you keep her here boy?" Snowball tilts his head meowing loudly while walking over to his food bowl. Nathan smiles going over to cabinet getting Snowballs food because putting it into his food bowl "Well at least I got you huh buddy" he scratches the cats back as he goes to town on his food. Standing back up he walks towards his room the door was closed maybe she was inside? He knocks softly waiting for a response "Trixe you in there?" opening the door there was know sign of Trixe. He picks up her bloody jumpsuit "I might as well wash this" walking back into the kitchen it puts it into the watching machine before starting it. A knock was heard at his front door walking through the livingroom he opened the door. Hie eyes widen seeing Trixe standing with a covered plate in one of her hands and the other held his young neighbor Garrett's "Where did you go!" he asked rather loudly. She held out the plate in his direction "Pizza?" he looks between her and the plate. His heart felt a thousand times lighter now that she was back "Hey Mr. Thompson we had pizza at my house she brought you a extra slice. Mom told me I could walk her home" he lets out a breath while meeting her eyes whispering a soft "Thanks..." while taking the plate. Garrett smiles letting go of Trixe hand turned towards her "And don't worry your secrets safe with me" he smiles while winking at her making her grin "Cya later, bye Mr. Thompson!" Garrett waved in his direction before running back home. She steps inside walking into the livingroom he closed the door behind her "I thought you already left for a second" he sat on the couch beside her sitting the pizza plate on his lap. Looking over at her she was still wearing his sunglasses which gave him pause because it's night time why was she still wearing them? Feeling his gaze she adjusted the glasses "Well you suggested I stay a few days so....I guess I'll stay at least a until my stitches are heal up. I want to be 100% when I leave" once the guards at the lab found her she would probably be on the run for the rest of her life. She needs to be at 100% to run forever he nods picking up the cold pizza bitting into it "The next time you just leave could you leave me a note of something?" she scratches the top of her head watching him eat "Why?" would he really care if she just disappeared it's not like he knew her or anything they barley knew each other. He shrugs picking at the cheese on top of the pizza "I don't know. I mean when I got home and I didn't see you I was kinda worried yah know? I didn't know where you were or if you were coming back" she tilts her head to the she never had someone worry about her before. Ever since she was born it seemed like people just wanting to use her without care about her feelings. She just stared at the side of his face trying to understand him "You really don't have to worry about me..." he finished off the pizza sitting the plate on the table. He turns towards her with a smile lopsided smile "I know...that's just who I am" she bites her like looking down she didn't know there was people like this. That just cared for others without expecting anything in return "Fine I'll let you know from now on and leave a note" he nods before standing picking up the plate to throw away. She watches him walk away confused by him he was so different from anyone she's ever met at the lab. It would be hard to leave someone so caring behind but someone like him didn't belong in her world.
