"How was dinner with Nova last evening?" Oscar asked as we were sitting together at the Mclaren hospitality.
I was sitting outside. If people asked, it was because the weather was very nice but between you and I, the real reason behind it was because I could look at Nova.
She was wearing a white dress and she always looked absolutely gorgeous in white.
Once again, she was sitting outside the Ferrari hospitality, straight up, talking to Nathan.
She knew that I liked her seeing in white, so it gave me a little hope that maybe she did it for me.
"It was okay, she took Charles though"
"Oh" he said. "So they're serious?"
"I don't know mate" I shrugged. Maybe I was just delusional, maybe I didn't want to admit to myself that she really moved on.
No, judging by the look on her face yesterday, she wasn't completely moving on.
"What made her fall for you in the first place?" Oscar asked. I thought he wanted to annoy me, but I still decided to answer as honestly as I could.
Just to annoy him back.
"We used to laugh all the time, we made jokes with each other and pulled pranks on other drivers. We just had a lot of fun"
And we also had amazing sex but he didn't need to know that. Those details were for me and me only.
"So then why are you not winning her back by doing all that?" He frowned.
And so did I.
"What do you mean?"
"You're staring at her, trying to pull her back by telling her how much you miss her, but you're not giving her a reason to actually miss you back"
Fuck, little Oscar was right.
I had to make her remember why she fell for me in the first place. It was because she's as crazy as me.
"I hate to admit this Osc" I said as I got up. "But you're right"
I was walking up to Nova and I didn't even have a game plan. What was I doing?
But it was as if it was meant to be because Arthur and Nathan walked away so Nova was being left by herself.
"Hi Nova" I said with a smile on my face. "Hi Lando" she almost said with a sigh.
That's how much she hated it to talk to me lately.
"You wanna steal lots of food at the Red Bull hospitality?"
Red Bull was always the best team to prank or steal things from. If they caught us, they wouldn't be that mad because they were a bit of rebels as well.
And Max and Christian both liked me.
She tilted her head a little, but I could see she was already excited about it.
"Yes, I've heard they have the best food" she smiled. There it was again, that beautiful smile. "Let's go then" I smiled, offering her my hand.
She immediately took it and we both ran out through the paddock together. Just like old times.
I took the sweet, cool and collected Nova and turned her back into the little rebel she is.
"I distract and you steal food, okay?" I whispered to her as we were standing in front of the hospitality. She quickly nodded her head.
So, I walked in first, looking for Max or Christian because they would be the only ones to actually complain about us stealing food.
But they weren't here so I put my thumbs up to Nova and just when I was about to walk to her, someone patted my back.
It wasn't Max or Christian, it was Helmut.
"Hi Lando, good to see you - are you looking for Christian?"
"Uh-I was-" stealing your food?
"I will tell Christian to call you, I think he's quite busy at the moment" Helmut said.
I looked over at Nova, who already was eating half a cupcake as she walked out.
"Yeah awesome thanks!" I said before leaving the hospitality as quickly as I could.
"Here's your reward" Nova laughed, putting the cupcake in front of my mouth. I quickly took a bite from it and smiled.
"They definitely have the best food" I said with my mouth full.
She nodded with a big smile and that's all I wanted to see. The smile on her face definitely made my day better.
Oscar was right, I should try pulling her back in, I had to make her realize how much she loved me.
