Snuck Out

I was laying in my bed thinking about a lot of different things. Roman had taken me home earlier after I had calmed down. I decided to not question him about the bruises because I knew he wouldn't tell me. I just felt so useless. I knew something was wrong. I could feel it in my gut, but I had no idea what I could do about it.

First of all, I don't even know what he's hiding from me. Second of all, it could be something extremely stupid and I could be worrying over nothing. Third, even if it was something serious, what could I do.

Roman is extremely fit and skilled. He has a black belt and has experience training with weapons. I know........ he has some weird hobbies. With all of that experience, he still got beat up, so what could I do. I'm 5'7 with little to no muscles. I am completely out of shape, and I'm so skinny I could probably fly away if the wind was too strong.

I know I should just leave it alone and let him handle it himself, but I just can't. Knowing that something dangerous might be happening to him makes me feel sick to my stomach.

I thought about my options for a long time. I wasn't sure which route was the best to take but I came to a conclusion. I was going to wait and see what happens. If Roman doesn't come back with anymore bruises, then I was going to leave the situation alone. If he comes back with more, well, I'll figure that one out when the time comes. I was going to secretly keep track of his body, and make sure that he stayed in perfect condition.

Wow, I sound like a pervert. Oh well. This is important.

I heard the front door of the house open and close. I'd figured that was my mom coming home from work, so I didn't think too much about it. But then I remembered, she was going to drill my ass for answers. Well shit.

"Oliver. Answers. Now.", my mom said while entering my room.

Well this should be fun.

"Well, you see mom some things had happened and now I'm like this."

She glared at me and I decided that I should probably continue if I didn't want to be murdered.

"All right, basically this guy beat me up pretty bad because of my stutter. But don't worry because Roman handled it. That guy got the beating of a lifetime."

She sighed while saying, "Oliver, please tell me when you're going through things like this. You can rely on me, you know. That's what a mother is for."

"I know.", I said while smiling. She hugged me and I hugged her back. I thought that went really well. I thought she would go crazy but surprisingly she was pretty calm.

Of course, I was wrong. She pulled away from the hug and looked at me with her signature devilish grin. "Now let's talk about your punishment.", she said.

Great. My life is just great.

It was one in the morning, and I was currently rethinking my life decisions. After I told my mom everything, she basically put me on house arrest so I could recover. I was also technically grounded for keeping things from her that could hurt me. I guess it worked out because now I can keep track of Roman this week since he's expelled.

I decided to call him to see if he wanted to come over. He'll probably be mad at me for waking him up, but I don't care. I got out of bed to grab my phone off of my desk when something caught my eye outside.

I saw a dark figure climbing out of Roman's window. At first, I thought it was a burglar and I was going to call the police. Then I realized that it was my idiot of a friend. Roman was dressed in all black with what looked like protective gear covering his body. He was wearing a belt around his waist that was packed full of weapons.

"What the hell is he doing?", I said out loud.

I opened my window to yell at him, but by the time I had it opened, he was gone. Okay, what the actual fuck is going on right now?

Let's go through everything that has currently happened.

1) I got my ass handed to me by Ryan.
2) Ryan got his ass handed to him by Roman.
3) Roman got expelled and I'm basically on house arrest.
4) For some reason, Roman has a shit ton of bruises on his body.
5) I cried, a lot (let's forget that part).
6) Roman snuck out of his house looking like a creep about to murder someone.

Perfect. My life is going according to schedule.

I decided I was going to question Roman when he returned. I would wait up all night if I had to, and if he didn't answer my questions, well let's just say Roman will have his ass handed to him.

I stared at the road from my window. I watched as the snow began to fall on the cold ground. I hope Roman is warm out there with whatever he's doing. The thought of being outside made me shiver. I grabbed a blanket that was resting on my bed and curled up on the window seal.

I will wait.

I don't care how long it takes.

I will question him.

I wil.......

Turns out I won't be doing anything because my stupid ass fell asleep. I couldn't help it, okay. It just looked so cold outside and the thought of how cozy I was made me tired.

When I woke up the next morning, I was extremely frustrated. I just wanted answers but I wasn't getting any. I'm going to be have to be more diligent to keep up with that best friend of mine.

Roman's POV

When I returned home in the early hours of the morning, I was exhausted. Doing this was taking a toll on my body, and I could tell that people were starting to notice. And there's one person who can't know. Oli.

Just thinking about him brings a smile to my face. Oh how I wish I could see him. I would wrap my arms around his thin frame and run my fingers through his hair. I would give anything to bury my face into his neck and smell him. He always smelled of home. His home. My home. Our home.

I was preparing myself to climb back up through the window when I glanced towards Oli's house. I looked up at his room and saw a familiar small figure cuddled up in the window seal.

He looked so cute curled up like that, but I was wondering why he chose to sleep there. Oh well, at least I got to see him. Oli. My Oli.
