Hey guys! Important AN at the end:)

The Chase

Run! I screamed at myself. Faster! Run faster! I kept scolding myself. If you don't run faster they will catch you. That was all I needed. The leaves and twigs cracked and snappedunderneath my feet as I pushed myself farther. All the different trees and bushes became a blur and the voices of the soldiers receded. I pushed myself a little further, but not all the way, and pushed through the field of magic encompassing the clearing. My home.

I swiveled around on my feet and looked out the barrier for the soldiers. After a few minutes they came up, trotting on their horses. “Ah! We lost 'im again!” One with a scraggly beard shouted as his horse trotted forwards and backwards.

“A-again? You mean this h-happens a lot?” A young soldier, probably a new recruit, asked nervously. He had a shaved head, all of them did. King's orders.

“Yeah. Don't worry Chaldrin, we'll get him tomorrow.” the leader of the group said. In your dreams. I thought to myself with a smirk on my face. They left just as soon as they came, galloping back to the castle to inform their King of the missing goods. Chuckling, I undid the strap of the heavy bag that had been resting on my shoulders.

As I walked further into the clearing I began to hear and smell all the things Iwas so used to. The sound of the river that ran straight through the village, it babbled a lot. Then there was the sound of the villagers bustling around getting the days chores done and preparing for dinner. As another minute passed I could see the dotting of the houses that wrapped in a big circle that was the Kalr-Mak village, with the small market in the center. The Kalr-Mak village {Inside present-day Bristol} was not to big, not to small. I'd say counting every being, old and young, there were probably 200 of us, and that wasn't counting the 5 in my family.

Anxious to get home and reveal my goods I quickened to a jog and was there in another minute. Once I reached the edge of town I took a right towards my home, the biggest house in the village with a view of everything for a good couple miles, but with our eyes we could see at least 8 miles out from this high if we really looked. As head of the village our family had to make sure we kept an eye on everything. I came to a stop at the front door and wiped my feet on the grass mat, in all my years I never forget to do so. Mother would have my head if I didn't!

The Chase; 2

“Good afternoon Sir Elliot.” A maid said as she swished by carrying linens. I don't really like the idea of having maids but them being paid makes me feel better. It just makes me think I have something in common with that rat of a king. I nodded towards the maid out of common courtesy then rushed to find my parents in the big room {living-room}. I found them by the fire talking to my brother and sister, Cynric and Zara. They were born quite a few years apart,Zara being older, but they look like they could be twins. They both had chocolate-brown hair with the most brilliant emerald green eyes. Each stood about 5'11” and even their voices were similar. Whereas I had dirty blonde hair and bright blue eyes I was always told they looked like the ocean.

“Mom! Dad! Hey Zara, Cynric.” I waved as I sat down in front of them all, still with the bag clutched tight in my hands.

“Afternoon Elliot.” They all replied warmly, I never could get used to the seriousness with my family. One minute they were happy and sarcastic, having a good time. The next they were totally into business. Business was never really my thing although I was constantly reminded that being the eldest had its responsibilities and that I needed to get into it.

“What's in the bag son?” My father asked as he gestured to the bag.

“Today's loot.” I said with a smug grin on my face.
