Hope you love it! Let me know if there are any changes I can make and remember, this is not edited yet. :) I'm already working on chapter five but usually after a chapter and a half I get blocked so it might be a little while, sorry.

The War Inside; 24

The War Inside

“What do you think you are doing here, huh?!” I yelled as I stomped closer to the intruder.

“I...I wanted to know where you were going.” She said quietly. Shyly she looked at her feet, and the movement made her brown hair sweep down from behind her shoulders like a waterfall.

“Alys...” I started as I let out an aggravated sigh. “You shouldn't have followed me. I-I didn't want you to.” The hurt that flashed across her eyes was unmistakable.

“I-uh. I'm sorry? You just looked upset and I thought I could help.”

“Well, looks like you were wrong, huh?”

“But...we...we're soul-mates.Why are you being so....so mean to me?” She asked as a tear slid down her cheek.

“Because. I wasn't supposed to find you. I didn't want to find you. You weren't supposed to exist. Understand? Now please. Leave. Me. Alone.” I spat out at her. It was the truth. I wasn't going to tell her to spare her feelings but she just wouldn't leave, and I needed her gone. Without looking at her again I went back into the house and slammed the door behind me.

After getting a mug of water I sat at the table as tears slid down my face. I could still feel her outside, she wasn't leaving. Stubborn, just like me. I threw the cup of water across the room and screamed, “I thought I told you to leave!” Although it didn't sound to intimidating with my voice cracking at the end.

The only thing I got in return was louder sobbing. “For the love of- GO AWAY!” I yelled as I stood up so fast the chair flew back and fell over. Loudly, I stomped my way to the back of the cottage and ended up in Tommy's room.

More tears left my eyes as I collapsed on his bed. It creaked and protested against my weight, it hadn't held anything in so long.

“Elliot! Please just talk to me!” Alys pleaded.

“GO AWAY! I don't know you, you are a stranger! Leave me alone!” I wailed through my tears. By now my crying had out-weighed my anger so I sounded like a child throwing a temper-tantrum.

“Never.” she yelled back. I sighed, I was never gonna get her to leave. Instead of fighting back, I took a deep breath and moved myself to the floor. Sitting right in front of me was a couple of the toys I had made Thomas, and a couple we had bought in the market.

I picked up the little toy boat. It was made to look like a sail boat. There was a notch in the middle that held a twig with a piece of cloth attached, and it actually sailed. I remember the day I made it...

“Daddyyyy!!!” Tommy cried for me, it was hot out and he was bored. I looked up from the piece of wood I was carving and answered his call. “Yes Thomas?” I said with a smile.

“Daddy I'm bored.”

“Are you Tommy? What would you like to do?” I asked as I returned to carving.

“I don't know. Just something.” He said in his little five-year-old voice.

“How about, we go sailing?” I asked.

“We don't have a boat dad.”

“Oh don't we?” I said as I held up my carving. It was a little sailboat.
