I pushed through the wave of bodies to get to the main stairs, apparently my locker was on the second floor in the north hallway; at least it was close to the library, I could remember that.
I put the paper my teachers would sign into my bag with my new lock and focused on getting to the main stairs where most people were flowing in every direction. I decided not to fight the current of bodies on my first day and I went to the bathroom in the east hallway for a moment.
I used the restroom and filled up my 32 ounce water bottle before splashing water on my face and combing through my hair.
"You'll be fine." I told myself in the mirror. "What could possibly go wrong on your first day?"
I sprayed perfume and added some lipgloss to make myself feel better, before I grabbed my bag and headed back out.
There were significantly less people in the halls now that a few minutes went by but there were still plenty of people in the halls to make me feel better about not being in class yet, which happened to be on the third floor in the south hallway. I better move it.
I headed back down the east hallway toward the open square hosting the main staircase, I was looking at my schedule to double check the Honors History classroom number when I ran smack into a wall.
I could've sworn I was in the middle of the hallway, I hope no one saw tha-
My thought's were interrupted by a loud, deep growl.
I took a step back and looked up from my schedule into the large, hard, tanned chest of an extremely tall guy.
He was very Clark Kent; classically handsome with black hair cut to a fade on the sides but long and styled on top with pieces falling onto his forehead in a rugged bedhead look, his blue eyes bright and piercing as he looked down at me as if he could and would squash me like a bug.
He smelled like teakwood and jasmine and I've never noticed a man's cologne so quickly, but it was nice. I got a warm feeling in my stomach and I started to get goosebumps all over just from the way he stared at me.
"Oh I'm sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going." I said lightly with a smile before turning to head around him.
I didn't get very far when a tanned arm stops me in my tracks and makes me shiver at the touch of his bare arm to my exposed chest; I look up to his cold, hard icicle eyes to see what his deal is but I end up swimming in them for a moment.
"Excuse me? I have to get to class." I said confused.
"So you're just going to play stupid are you?" He almost barked at me, with a gruff voice that could be panty dropping if he wasn't so aggressive.
"Uhmmm, I'm not playing at anything I just want to find my class." I said as I tried to move around him again.
He grabbed my wrist, roughly. Usually I'd twist and bring my wrist down toward my knee but I was stunned into stillness for some reason.
"If you want to do it the hard way we can, I was going to save you some embarrassment but if you're 'just looking for your class' then I'll get this done and over with so you can find it." He said angrily, loudly.
People started staring our way from each hallway, even from up on the stairs.
"Oh I don't really need help finding it, I think I know where I'm going." I said, still confused.
He laughed, loud and booming; but it didn't sound genuine it sounded mean.
"Don't worry I know where I'm going too, and it's certainly nowhere with you." He said while pointedly looking at me.
