"Magic, if real, can do anything, so I don't know why Eugene's being so uh about all of that." She didn't want to get their stories straight, whatever that meant, simply because it was "Gross and not fair. Don't I get to have a say? Why do I get the chance for him to be my boyfriend, only to have it taken away."

Demi May glared at the privacy curtain Eugene pulled shut between them, the glare continuing from her attempt at making her dissatisfied with the story he came up with.

"Not that I want to keep the story straight, particularly since he's still into Whitechapel. I remember now he said something about wondering if she's here, but she's not that special. She's not special at all."

Boredom set in, leaving her feeling antsy, her fingers pulling at her pajamas at first, then she stood up and headed to the privacy curtain, peeking through.

"What are you doing?" Eugene asked, his mouth twisted into a frown as he sat on the bed, back against the wall, his arms crossed, having caught her peeking.

"So, talk?" Demi asked, pushing the curtain aside.

"Don't want to," Eugene said, looking away and sighing.

She pulled on her pajamas. "When do you think I'll get some real clothes?"

Eugene turned his head, blue eyes watching her, still frowning. "Not my problem." He held up both arms. "As you can see, I don't need to change my clothes."

"Yours are dry as well," Demi May noted, glancing at the sleeve. "Do you know who removed my clothes and dried them?"

"They didn't remove your clothes," Eugene said. "They used a spell to dry them. Or are you going to..."

"How are you two feeling?"

Demi May turned where she stood, grimacing at the lime green robes the person wore. "Did you escape from the mental ward?"

Eugene heard a hissing sound of displeasure while the woman looked at them. "Excuse me?"

"She's part of the medical staff!" Eugene protested. "How daft can you be!"

"I'm not daft, whatever that means," Demi May said. She lifted her head. "When can I go home?"

"The Aurors are tracking down your closest relatives, but when they find someone willing to take you in, you and your brother can go home."

Demi May bristled, glaring at the woman. "He is not my brother."

"Ignore her," Eugene said quickly. "She's an idiot."

"I am not an idiot!" Demi May said.

"Says the person who says they hate reading, who said they need to rely on her beauty rather than her smarts!" Eugene snapped, glaring at her.

"Alright, alright. I get it. Typical sibling stuff," the woman said, letting out a sigh. "And it seems neither of you need a calming drought, thankfully."

"Typical?" Demi May screeched out. "What do you not..."

"You're not helping," Eugene snapped. "Or she will give you a calming drought."

"I'll let the Aurors know they can speak with you regarding what you remember. About your parents' murder."

"Murder?" Demi May felt the color drain from her face, her voice straining right before falling silent. She watched the woman in the lime green, ugly clothing step out of the room. She returned with the two men who'd approached them at the ruins of the building. Demi May was soaked to the bone as the rain poured down, a creepy glowing thing in the sky.
